shut up karl. that was the exact same response he had.
idk, i'm diggin' it how it is, but i'll have a better idea of how i feel about it once a tire is mounted, i can always mask and spray over the green if i change my mind and want a smaller ring.
lol. Hey, i was just trying to make you seem less ghey with the smaller ring. And I did give you the pics you needed for your stater shim so you won't crack the bellhousing with 2 washers! :/flipoff
did you ever go get that lincoln? i have one that is about 50 years old and it still works like a charm. i use it for all welding on frames or anything that will get yanked on.
sorry, i forgot to log out. been gone most of the day. yes i did go get the lincoln:
then i had to do some shopping. got the correct shim to fix my starter issue and picked up some welding goodies. nothing special, just a cheapo helmet, gloves, hammer, brush, soaps, and a couple pounds of 7018 rod to get me going.
if the hardware store in town has the correct wire i'll get some and hopefully have the 240v outlet done tomorrow. they sell by the foot, all the bigger places sell in rolls which are way more than i need and cost too damn much.
Damn Dan, took ya long enuf. I pulled the motor outta my ranger, took pics and sent em to you, got the motor on the stand and down to a short block for inspection and still made it back inside and on the board for a few hours.
BTW, my motor still looks like brand new inside. No issues with the roller cam/lifters/rockers. Bore's are nice with no scoring. Pistons look good even after the nitrous hits. Heads look good, all springs checked within spec, and main/rod bearings look brand new with no markings. Makes me feel better I took all the extra time to triple check things as it went together last year. Now to give the heads a bath and braze the floors, and do some work to the intake to make it flow better
no auto darkening, just a cheap flip down. i haven't really welded since high school so idk if i'll even be worth a damn at it. as of right now i have about a $250 investment into the world of welding. if it turns out i can't lay a bead to save my life i can still cut and run. didn't wanna spend $100+ on a helmet till i knew if i was getting serious with it or not.
oh, and karl, i ended up bumping into an old buddy that used to be my "crew leader" at my old bakery job and we bs'ed for quite a bit. they just picked up a big new account and need some more guys. he's gonna try his *** off to get me my old job back because it saves them training time.
p.s. dan licks windows as a tag??!!?? WTF!!! i thought those were site generates search terms, didn't know you could just type in suggestions, never tried it.......
