stupid question of the day, what kind of lug nuts do i need for those wheels and what size for a 78? i wanna say they are 1/2 but i'm not 100% sure on that. measured an it looks like they are 1 and 1/10's inch long wheel studs, so would these be the right ones to order? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-754006B/?rtype=10
i was going to go with 4 per wheel to shave weight for mud racing, hey, honda's and old escorts only had 4 lugs a wheel :flipoff:
i was kind of surprised on the prices of lug nuts. last time i bought some they were like a buck a pop. i was seeing $10+ a piece on some. eff that noise.
Usually auto parts stores (autozone/advance/etc) will have a big box of the ones that just look like regular nuts that would go on a bolt, except tapered on the one end. I got a bunch of them from them one time when I needed 'em. They weren't too bad on price either, IIRC.
can anyone find me a 110v flux welder for less than $117 shipped? i figure i may as well bite the bullet and get a little flux welder to reteach myself on, and for any big stuff i need to do that it can't handle i can use my buddy mike's shop with his big miller mig or lincoln stick. i figure a little flux will get me by until i either get serious and pony up for a good welder or realize that i should farm out my welding work. this is the hunk of shyte i will most likely buy unless i can find something better for a similar price: 90 Amp Flux Wire Welder
$117.23 delivered with coupon code.
I don't think the little cheapo 110 flux core migs are worth it. You can't really effectively weld anything besides paper thin tubing and sheet metal. It would probably be money better spent on a 220 lincoln stick welder.
90 amp is ok, but you need a 20 amp 110 plug min. I have welded some far amount of stuff with my Lincoln 110. But I also have a 220 stick. The 110 tacs**** together very nice.
well being that i'd have to change an outlet either way, what do you guys think about this? old lincoln 225 ac lincwelder, found 2 within driving distance for $150 a pop. anybody have any experience with one? i wanna say this is the same model welder my dad used to have at home that my grandpa gave to him umpteen brazillion years ago. this is the nicer of the 2, waiting on an email reply for it.
Lincoln Electric Lincwelder Arc Welder Model: AC-225-S - $150 (Moline IL) http://quadcities.craigslist.org/tls/2222242157.html
hopefully picking it up this weekend. gotta get the 240v outlet sorted out though, gonna call the land lady in a bit and see about getting one put in. i have 2 open breakers in my panel, just need to get them side by side in the box and go from there. if she says no, i'll just have my buddy mike help me with it, he's the "handyman" they use for everything anyways. only difference would be if he did it for me it would be the friend price of free
i guess these 225 lincwelders have been around since the 1940's and not much changed either, pretty solid simple design.
