Glad things aren't worse, U & family are OK. Not as bad as it wuz down the road abit. Fortunately U aren't in Tornado Alley (aint dat on the TX / LA border?). My 'ex's" "ex" is from the rez in OK & they got alot of twisters...
Stay close to the radio May thru November, those Earth Changes (what we called them when predicting this stuff in the '60s) have increased intensity, duration and frequency over the last several decades...
Let us know if you need anything bro.
good for U.
Knowin you I'm sure it stays dry inside even in that clay-ey ground and aint all cracked up from the freezin and thawin. 6K psi & rebar i'll do it (can't go to that site - dialup & bed time...
I'd love to see the brackets that install on the frame.
How will you cut thru the floor boards (torch? 4 1/2 inch wheel? sawzall? die grinder?) and will there be "grommets" when passing thru there - so the uprights of the RBs pass thru an air/water barrier? May B I'm thinkin too fancy for not street registered/off rd/a different state's requirements...
Thanks
("a pic's worth....." [hint, hint] we just luv pic!!!)
The floor pans and under seat decking is 3/16th tread plate overlay now. So I will either weld to it or grade 8 bolt the RB mount plates to the bottom frame support bar plates.
I am using the frame mount tie in brackets from the donor Bronco, they were welded to the frame but bolted to the roll bar plates. I am frame welding them again and might tie into the rock sliders also??
The aft kicker bars will be welded to the double tube back bumper.
If that all makes since......and yes I will pic document it all. Air and water tight barrier, not to worry, I am not cutting any holes.
I'll wait 4 da pic, but it sounds like there will B a plate on either side of the floor pan (sandwich) w/bolts thru to hold the sandwich together?
Thanks Rich.
Good luck, sounds tedious but beefy!
Interested in da details...
I scored a complete top with almost zero rust, a littel on the front under edge in a few spots. All the OEM side glass is there with the chrome trip and the chrome trim around the whole top.
Back glass is awesome and so is the back window mechanism.
A set of doors with only one inner door panel missing, all the glass and wings and upper window frame is there and its chrome to boot. Only light surface rust on the bottom edge NO dents.
A 1968 hood without a dent or a bit of rust. A windshield and frame, a complete (instruments all OEM switches/*****) dash with the ignition keys that match the door locks.
A set of Tan OEM front buckets.
Might even get the title (to the glove box warranty/vin plate, if he can find it.
