What the hell do you call this thing? I can see some uses for it, if modded.
Hope all goes well with the cooler.
Thanks It's a Test Ball Plug
I was gonna cut that ball in half and hose clamp it to the coolant cap . It has a air valve in the end which I was going to screw a pressure gage to .
Same thing with the cooler . half on one end and the other on the opposite end . Pressurize and instant pressure test . They come in 2,3 and 4 inch.
One more question for the morning .
The gaskets on the adapter caps (cooler ends) Do they require any gasket seal ? They look as if they are pre-pressed with a sealant
I figured if I'm gonna do this thread I may as well make it as complete as possible. I'm looking at the end cap of the cooler (oil filter end ) and if you look in these pics. The coolant was positively passing the front O ring allowing coolant into the oil . I'm not sure this will be the exact cause of my problem but it definitely was leaking.Something to think about if you have a 7.3 PSD. My truck is an 01Ex and has 142K on it.
The white spots are the passing points around the black line.
Morning UPDATE !!
Cooler is together and installed in the truck. That was some bugger to press together.
Not bad to install. You have to really roll around and have a bright drop light. I don't have a torque wrench so I'm running to get one. I need a gear puller anyway for my son's ATV . Any excuse to buy tools is ok in my book .
I'll then put the hoses back ,block heater and then fill er up . Be back soon
I need some help . Truck is all back together .
New oil filter ,14qts of oil . I 'm filling the cooling system and can only get 5 gallons in ?
It takes 8 .
Should I start it with the cap off and add it as it warms up ???
