When pressure testing the coolant side of the cooler,Think 20lbs is enough to pressurize it ? I think that's what's put on the cooling system when pressure testing it from the expansion tank ?

i just repaired mine yesterday and i took the cooler out from the bottom. i reached through above the frame, from drivers side, to get the front two bolts. i got the three rear bolts from underneath. take off the oil filter and wiggle it and twist to remove it from below.

Thanks JP . I got mine out with no problem. Yup all from just laying under the truck . Pulled right out . Did you replace the O rings ? If so what did you use on them (oil, grease) to lubricate them to get the core back in ?

It looks like you don't want to put over 20psi when testing. I found this thread and sounds similar to your problem.

Thank you . I actually read that thread . That's when I posted about (Fuel) in the oil based on the injector cups . I 'm still a bit confused about the injector cups. If they are lubricated from the bottom by oil and fuel overhead how does coolant get in the mix ?
I'm gonna post some picks of the O rings . I had them under a microscope and used my camera through a magnifying glass to get the pic . I only had about 2 quarts of coolant in the pan based on the dip stick (1 inch).

If you look at the seat line it looks as if it's bypassed in 2 areas on this O ring

the problem with my cooler was rust, you should replace the seals and gasket then put it back on and see what happens. do you have access to a press? its hard to put the ends back on putting it back together. do you have acces to a press?

place the cooler vertical on a jack and press it against something stable when you need to put it back together

Nice idea !! I can do that. I'll have my kids sit on the kitchen table and jack it up against the underside of the table . Think the wife might get mad
