Wow. my eyes hurt.. what a read. glad you got it fixed and didn't have to get a new motor. more info for me to ingest for future use..
The truck had 141K on it when it happened last January and now it has 175k. Everything is stock.
I changed the headlights and ordered a custom billet badge but didn't get the badge yet. There's new brakes, calipers, rotors, end links, bilstein shocks, ball joints, shaft seals, every fluid has been changed.I use Motorcraft 15w40 oil "only" every 5k ,Stanadyne fuel additive every 10k,fuel filter every 10k and normal fluid changes which are due now. I changed all the fluids (diff, pumkins, tranny etc)at 150K.
Truck is a beast on the highway .I get about 17-19 mpg @70-75 mph .
Thanks for reading. I have to change some hoses now cause they look dry rotted and have a little blow by under the turbo .

Spent an hour reading everything.....so glad it turned out for you. Second only to having your EX running, is meeting a quality PSD mechanic who treats his work as if it's his own (and he cares about quality).
I went over all the paperwork last night .
I bought the truck 2/10 with 115k. Trani and steering box went 4/10 with 123K
Front cover let go 10/10 with 141K.
80k since then. Basic maintenance
Nope not lately, talked to him on the phone a couple of weeks ago & he said he was moving to a bigger place right up the road. I told him I'd stop by sometime.
