Notice the quantity. Apparently they think he needs 2 of 'em...
Good to hear the move is going well Tom. As I mentioned, I'll pass your number on to the commercial guy at my dealership to see if he can get you a better deal on a 2011.
Yeah I noticed the quantity... I just figured I dont know of any SRW vehicle that needs 2 right rear rims (even though I thought all 4 wheels had same offset and lug pattern) so I figured that was something else weird but didnt want to embarrass myself if that wasn't the case LOL
Well, you guys found one error but you haven't quite seen it yet. I don't really mind if anyone can see my phone number or former address, but I'm not sure the insurance adjuster would feel the same way. So I ended up editing it out, thanks for the reminder Hybris and 5.4L to Freedom!
The truck does need two rims, both right side rims are bent from the accident.
The error is that I have the cheap chrome-clad steel wheels NOT the expensive polished aluminum ones. I'm pretty confident the chrome-steel wheels are much cheaper.
Notice anything else? Did ANYONE see any damage anywhere near the turbos?
I would not be suprised if there is some transfer case damage also. It doesnt take to much to damage them anymore. The axle houseing alone is over $2300 Ouch. Adds up fast. Glad your wife is getting better.

+1 on that, the A-pillar and windshield are a main structural component of the vehicle. Furthermore, in the event that vehicle rolls and the ANY of the black around the windshield is missing, the person who performed the repair WILL lose their butts. If the A pillar was adjusted it is not as strong as it should be (plastic deformation) and it most likely not perform as it is supposed too.
Ditto. The pillar and glass are structural components. It's "more" likely to crush at that spot in the event of a rollover if not repaired correctly.

In that case if I understood the invoice right you needed 3 wheels, that are polished aluminum. It lists the right front right above the right rear. I also noticed the steel clad wheels but figured that was your shot at some bling bling... after they ordered 3 and realized they needed 4 my guess would be the 4th woulda been on the house trying to hide their goof.
I also noticed the turbo stuff, but I don't know jack about your diesel engine so I'm gonna sit that stuff out.
I went through this with my step-son a month or two ago. He had a "fender bender" in stop-and-go traffic, hit the back of a Hemi Dodge pickup going like 5 MPH. Took out his radiator, grill, headlight, right fender, hood, etc. It's a 2001 Mitsubishi Diamante, and at something like 75% of his book-value, they totaled it.
The adjuster listed a bunch of stuff that I can't say was needed. They used brand-new parts where available from Mitsubishi, like a washer fluid container that was like $250 from Mitsi, but $40 from a local junkyard, while using junkyard stuff where they had to.
All told, I can fix it, using parts from the junkyards (car-parts.com) for about 1/4 what they said it would take, just in parts. That's not including savings on labor.
But, he paid off his loan, kept the car for like $300 extra, and now has a car to fix
Tom, do you want a 2010 or 2011 SD, I talked to my local dealer today and they said there are a few 2010 SD's that match the description of your truck on the lot. If you would consider the 2010 I can check and make sure its close to what you had and give the dealer your number.
man look how cheap they are making the trucks nowadays! does the front clip even unbolt anymore? looks like a buncha cheap stamped steel tack welded on! glad your wife ok, i would hate to see what had happened if she was in a small toyota prius!
Front clips haven't unbolted for a while. The cab corners, inner fenders, and radiator supports are all spot welded together, just like on your Excursion. In '08 they went from flat steel inner-fenders to the tube style, which are stronger.

i know my 2000 is disposable also, when did they stop making them unbolt?
Why do you say disposable? They are stronger and easier to build. I bought my '03 wrecked and welded new inner fender reinforcements on the front of the cab during the rebuild. Only way you can tell it isn't factory is the welds are MIG plugs instead of spot welds.

cheaper to spot weld then to bolt, dont see many people pulling front clips to get easy access to engine or firewall, just seems like they have lost allot of their attraction by going the cheap route with spotwelds and plastic.
