Tom, if I remember correctly, you bought an older Mercury to be your DD. Still have that car? I think the 2011 gasser is a good compromise.
Yeah, I do. It's been a great car so far and I've grown to trust it on long trips. I originally was planning on using the Contour until winter when I could find a better deal on a 2011. Unfortunately I have to replace my truck within a few weeks or I loose $2K!

With 4.30s it's rated for 15,100 lbs towing, more than my '08 6.4 was! I'm sure it would be perfectly adequate for my uses, but after my '08 I WANT THE DIESEL!!!
if you thought ur 08 hauled *** with a trailer just imagine what a 6.7 would do with a trailer behind it
Haha, thanks Matt!
Got some good news yesterday, looks like an FTE member will be buying my wrecked truck. He wants it to rebuild it! It's gonna be nice to see it back on the road after some rehab instead of being parted out and scrapped!
haha no problem! plus i wanna drive the "6.7" if you get it hahah lmao and thats awesome. Its nice not to see your wrecked truck go to the scrap yard. Howd that end up happenin? (fte member buying ur rig) I wish someone on FTE woulda bought my Excursion instead of watchin it go to the junk yard
Well that's a shocker. You rebuilt a totaled truck? Never would have guessed. Glad it's going to someone with the capabilities and passion to properly restore it.
Rebuild mine twice now.... Bought it totaled and wrecked it last summer when a highschooler ran a stop sign and almost totaled it again. Definitely a good time for a crew cab upgrade

Definitely will be posting pictures! If you read through pdombrowicki's rebuild thread, you'll see I posted that I was keeping an eye out for an '08 or newer crew cab salvage. So glad I finally found one!
