This is Tom this time, looks like Karri's been busy on FTE!
I spent 3 1/2 hours at the dealer tonight going over different things. I looked at the window stickers for 11 different 2010 SDs that he can trade for, both V10s and PSDs.
Looks like I can get my hands on any 2010 PSD truck for ~$10K under MSRP, and a V10 truck for ~$8K-9K under MSRP. Can't seem to find exactly what I want, but I am very pleased with the deals I've been able to find.
I then asked the salesman to take me out and show me a demonstration fof the "rear view camera" system, as I've never had one before. In the process we came across a max-tow F150 Lariat. This is the configuration F150 that'll tow 11,000 lbs, and this one was NICE. Heated/cooled leather seats, electronic climate control, Super Crew, long bed, 7,800 lb GVWR, 5.4L V8, 6R80 transmission. So I had to take a test drive!
We got back and I had him look up some more SDs, this time considering both F350s and F250s with the Rapid Heat option, tailgate step, and that slick backup camera!
After awhile longer I decided to fill out a credit app and see what kind of financing was available. This is when the sales manager came out and asked me if there was a 2011 on the lot that I liked. The sales manager found a 2011 XLT 4x4 CC long box truck that I had to drive. Just like the first 6.7L truck I drove, I fell in love with it. This one stickers at $51,610, and I could have it for $45,850.
Not sure what to do as I still REALLY want a 6.7L truck! I told him I'd give him a call and let him know what I want to do. I plan on purchasing something this weekend.

Sounds like you have 3 great options!
I would either get the V10 or go all in and get the 6.7, but thats just Me.

Tom, I know you've considered otherwise, but don't you dare let that thought enter you mind again!
I've watched 3 users over the last month and a half do this thinking that a new F150 could do what their Super Duty does, but better. After the first big tow a month later, they find out they're wrong, and they want their truck back; but 9 times out of 10 it's gone becuase it was a highly sought after truck. From there, they're stuck with a truck and truck note they are WAY upside down on. Just a few words of advice...
We're all keeping our fingers crossed for you...Happy Hunting.

It's a 350. I've been mainly looking at SRW F350s. It's only a couple hundred more than the F250s and comes with a considerable increase in "legal" payload.

If I could sway the vote, I would go with the 6.7....please allow me to live vicariously through you.
Thanks, she'll appreciate that. I just have to justify the extra $4K more for the 2011. Hence the thread HERE.
I guess its alot of money, but lok at it this way, evertime a 6.7 passes you by you are gonna say, man I wish I would have bought one.
Take it from me, when my 04 6.0 was bought back, I went to a F-150 with a 5.4, and it couldnt do what my SD did. It sucked towing my car trailer loaded with a GN, and the fuel mileage loaded, and empty were less than stellar.
The first chance I had to get back into a diesel 6.0 SD I did it. Now I had the 150 for 2 years, and when I bought my truck it was only a year old and had real low miles on it.
SO agaim my vote for you, for me, is the SCORPION DIESEL
If it were me, I'd get the F350 PSD. I met a guy in Casey, IL last nite who got the max towing F150. He really liked the truck but admitted that 11K would be too much for it to tow consistently.

You and everyone else.
And myself, apparently. Today I put a deposit down on a 2011 F350 XLT CC SB truck with the 6.7L PSD. Has everything I want(tailgate step, Rapid Heat, XLT Premium Package, Reverse Sensors) and nothing I don't, such as the larger wheels or appearance items.
MSRP is 51,700, and I'm buying it for $45,710. More than I wanted to spend, but I think this is the best choice for me right now. I'm REALLY excited about this, I'm getting it Saturday morning!
I agree with what the bulk of others are saying...once you have had a SD, an F150 will not suffice, unless you don't plan to ever tow or haul anything. I'd go SD....2010 or 2011, depending on what deal you can get and which one ya like better. Either way, it's a good dilemma to have!
