Hey cartmanea, make sure you start up a thread showing your rebuild progress. It's soo COOOL to see guys rebuild these trucks and keep them from the crusher! Great work guys!
Will do. Probably will hold off on the thread until a lot of work is done since it will be a long process and the thread would get ridiculously long. I'm in grad school still, so work will be done on weekends and spare time only, and at my parent's house 6 hours away from school.
Definitely will be posting pictures! If you read through pdombrowicki's rebuild thread, you'll see I posted that I was keeping an eye out for an '08 or newer crew cab salvage. So glad I finally found one!
Can you start a new thread with the pics that Crazy has of the truck in the shop? I really want to follow your rebuild from the get go.
First question, how are you going to get the truck home?
Having it transported by an auto shipping company. Hopefully it all goes smoothly with the two flat tires and steering screwed up. The broker knows about that, I'll know more when I speak with the driver in the next few days.
Good deal Cartmanea, I think it's definitely a fixable truck!
Now Tom, havent heard back from the local Ford dealership, I'm beginning to think they may be a bunch of yahoos but if you go to your local ford dealership they can search national inventory to try and find you a 2010. Anyhow, let me know when you are ready for your new purchase.
A good friend of mine owns a salvage company (with multiple locations), so when you get it I might be able to help with parts. Or, maybe connect you guys. Are you in Corvallis, or is that where you're going to school?
I also have a friend with transport company, but it looks like you've got that all figured out.
Yeah, I'm in Corvallis at OSU. Truck will be at my parent's house in NE Oregon. I found an '08 at B&R in Springfield that was a rollover, so I should get all the inner fender and core support along with the front axle and suspension. I'll probably just buy new body panels, because the chance of finding good condition white ones is slim.

Already started doing just that. I'm just headed out the door to a Ford dealer who found me a few likely candidates. They quoted me $40,700 on a 2010 F350 SRW 4x4 PSD CC XLT with an MSRP of $51,000. A MUCH better deal than I can get on a 2011! This is probably the route I'll take.
And, not that I'll ever admit this in the other thread, I will be buying one with the PSD, even though they can find me a V10 truck. I'm addicted!!!
