The 6.0L usually gets in the 17-20 mpg range stock and the 6.4L is in the 14-18 range, but it varies a lot. Its lower due to all the emissions crap they add on. The programming also hurts, they burn more fuel less efficiently (timing retarded) to reduce nitric oxide emissions.
Its "Mrs.Crazy" again - he just called me and hes at the dealership now. I'm pretty sure he isn't buying anything today (or I should say he better not be without me ) but I know we are getting a truck before he has to go to his Army stuff for 16 days in August. Besides he has to get a truck soon, we need to get a couch since our dog ate the last one....

Karri
have him get a picture in all the difffernt trucks hes test driving, then we can have a vote to see what one he looks better in.

It would take you all day to look at the pictures. I guess the dealer he is at right now doesn't have any of the actual trucks hes looking at. So he's just looking at the window stickers and if we "agree" on one we would have to put a deposit down and then they would dealer trade for it. So lord only knows what I'm going to find out when he comes home. Last I talked to him he was looking at like 35 trucks.I don't think I will ever understand him
Although I have to say he was nice enough to call me 50 times and ask me if there was anything I wanted for the truck as an option
Already started doing just that. I'm just headed out the door to a Ford dealer who found me a few likely candidates. They quoted me $40,700 on a 2010 F350 SRW 4x4 PSD CC XLT with an MSRP of $51,000. A MUCH better deal than I can get on a 2011! This is probably the route I'll take.
And, not that I'll ever admit this in the other thread, I will be buying one with the PSD, even though they can find me a V10 truck. I'm addicted!!!
Lol who aint addicted to the power of a diesel. And it seems like mrs crazy is offically addicted to ford trucks. I think she should make her own name on FTE "Mrs Crazy" and tom needs to buy karri a truck to.. Dont forget about her hahah
Its "Mrs. Crazy" again - I just heard from Mr. Pain in my butt and he is still at the dealer, those poor people are probably sick of him. Anyway, hes bringing all the window stickers home from all the trucks he's "considering". He seems to have this new found puppy love about this one he just talked off my ear about...from the part of the conversation I was actually paying attention too its an F150 Lariat that is "loaded" but he also has a few others he really likes. So at this point it seems as though we aren't making much progress. So in turn this means hes going to come home and talk my ear off about these trucks that I have no idea what any of it means and eventually pick one by himself or until I just say fine that one, lol. So once he gets home he can give you all a much better description of these trucks then I....(hopefully)
Any suggestions for a truck? Any suggestions of what not for a truck? I'm not sure he would be happy with another F150 and he really wants another diesel so I'm not sure why this F150 is that exciting...am I missin something?
Thank you sdetweil, that makes it a little bit easier to sort out. Since we have been married I have heard more about trucks and cars then I ever thought possible and I still can't tell you half of it. I know he means well but he talks so fast and tries to explain "truck things" usually in the middle of me trying to take care of the baby or in the middle of my homework (i'm back in college finally) and I just tune him out
This diesel addiction came with the truck that I sent to truck heaven or should I say to one of FTE member. We went to "look" at the dealership where he is from because he loves to just go and look and he really liked the F150 he had and they had his F250 that was the diesel and was 12,000 off. He drove it, loved it and then we sat in the freaking dealership for like 5 hours while he decided and they talked. I can't tell you what it is specifically (you will have to ask him if ever comes home from the dealer), all I know is he is 100% addicted to them.

I got that.. I work on older cars/trucks as a hobby (see my user picture, the green truck).. and I get going, and my wife just starts talking back with her hands..(quack quack!) all she can hear is the charlie brown sounds.. waaaa.. waa..wwaa. wwwwaaaa..!!..
we tow the show truck all over, 1200 miles to tennessee last month, 1400 miles to michigan last summer..(both distances one way)
last summer we used the suburban, and my wife and 23yr old daughter shared the drive time with me.. we were exhausted.. the trailer was right at the max towing weight..
every passing truck gave us a little push over in the lane.. VERY uncomfortable..
this last trip with the diesel (dually) was amazing.. 2 of us driving, same trailer... a breese.. put it on cruise at 75 and GOOOOOO.. and fuel mileage was 50% better.. 9 vs 6mpg, same trailer.. most of the same roads.. two of us drove 850 miles in one day and were not dead tired.. prior was all we could do to handle 690miles for 3 drivers.
so, thats what a superduty, and diesel can do..
(this is my first SD and diesel too)

As fast as tom talks in person or over the phone, i hope he confused you haha . Because after his so called "diesel addiction" (I know its biten me to) i just cant picture him in a f150 lol. So i hope hes actually talking about a F250 or 350 lariat
Lariat is a SuperDuty term, so I guess he was confused if he said F150..
The Lariat package is also found on the F150s, so it might actually be what he said. However, I'm sure he won't like it as much as he would a diesel super duty.
