Powerstroke upgrade! Engine swap started..
Wow, thats wierd! What happened there?
It did finally cool down this evening.. Out I went! I am getting the new dash and heater assembly rounded back up and cleaned off. I got the tote out of all the in cab wiring I took from the diesel donor. Crossing my fingers, tomorrow should be productive and I should have some pics available!
I spent most of my work time this evening squishing black widows that have decided the frame of my truck is a great house!

the donor truck had a combo cargo light/ brake light, the dually had just the cargo light. there is about 3in difference in width i am to lazy to cut the cab right now. this New Orleans heat is not any better. so, i just put a red bulb in and tucked the cargo part of the harness back in. STUPID SPIDERS, THEY RUIN THE FUN IN EVERYTHING!

Some Pics finally!!!
Yeah.. I am not a huge fan of them spiders! LOL! I just dont know why I have to have such a black widow collection going on! Of all spiders out there, this is my luck! LOL!
So I promised to get some pics up, and finally making good on it! My digital camera is eating batteries like mad, so I had to use my phone. Today was AWESOME weather wise! Got a cool wave going on! Here is what got done:
Heater ducts installed.
Tilt/Cruise Steering wheel
In cab wiring harness/fuse box
Accellerator pedal sensor was hooked up along with brake and neutral safety
PW/PD wiring installed (which by the way, if a truck dont come with it, there is no wiring harness behind the dash, you have to install it!).

New steering.. Mmmmmmmmmm!

I did need my helper out there today! LOL!

I have to finish cleaning up the dash itself before getting it in, finish connecting the wiring harness and such. One thing I did forget to mention was that I also swapped out the brake module onto this heater duct. I have the DRW, so these things are specific for some reason I have no knowledge of! LOL! I also noticed that I have a factory amp to deal my new hook up too.. JOy!

One thing that keeps sticking out at me.. That steering wheel sure does come out further then the non-tilt model! LOL!
So far everything is coming along nicely.. I went back out last night to get some more done.. fitting that duct work back into place and making sure its buttoned up has been interesting!

The one thing I am not liking.. All the danged screws to get back in place, and that duct work.. It doesnt want to sit back into place on the steering brace.. LOL!
I had seperated all the wires and harnesses from the hardware to clean em all up, dialetric greased em, and put it back together. I guess in a sense, a resto! LOL

Did you come up with any reasonable or awesome trick to those end cap screws? There is one on each side, that hold the outer dash shell to the duct work, one the sided of the very end right up against the pillar...
I have been using a small thin wrench to get them undone.. But its soooooooo sloooooowwww and paaaaaiiinstaking.. to the point I want to eat lead! LOL

i did it all out of the truck. even the alum steering colume bracket. when i put it back in, i had the screws along the wind sheild, and the 2 brackets above the tranny hump, and one on each far end by the doors. all very easy to get to. just set it on the seat, plug inthe 2 firewall plugs, hook up the ac vacuum lines, and that was about it
i drew on one of you pics. the marked spots are the only connections or mounting places i had when i put the dash back in. the ones for the colume bracket are not accurate and there was one on each end of the dash behind the kick panel. otherwise, the das went in complete, wiring duct, cluster and all with just those few screws. i hope this helps
LOL! Very neat indeed.. But you missed 2! There is one at each end of the dash. They are on the sides of the dash, right where the dash meets up with the pillar.
These two are the biggest PIAs! For one, they are pretty long and take a lot of turning to get off, and two, you cant get a socket in there to get them out. I have been using an open ended wrench to turn them out sloooowwwly! To make things worse, a box end would be nice, by as the screw turns out, you will end up pinching your wrench and locking it in place! A nightmare!
