Hey guys, I am new to diesels, but I was given a 1995 f250 Power Stroke with the drivers side hie pretty bad. Not as bad as Midwest Daully, but bad enough to need another cab and bed. Mine is an extended cab long, and I hope to find a crew cab short bed. My questions are regarding the engine. It was running fine at the time of the accident, but has not been started in 4 years. Are there any good publications that I could get info on what I need to do before I start it again. There are terms, and things you talk about that I don't have a clue about.
Also would like to know if there are any salvage yards in the Texas area that might keep cabs for the Ford.
Keep looking around here! That topic comes up often regarding a truck that hasn't been started in some time! I think as long as the fuel tanks are capped, its just the HPOP oil that may need restored!
P.S.: It's been a while since I have been on..... Apparently FTE and Satellite internet do not get along, LOL!
I knew a guy that had satellite internet from Hughes, he hated it. Ended up getting a Verizon air card.
How's the truck other than just sitting?
I am with him! I have Wild Blue, and that is worse then Hughes! LOL! To make things worse, I wish i could use a Verizon Air Card, problem is, i don't have any cell coverage out where I am! I have been working on getting a booster, but its like collecting one thing at a time.. S..L..O..W!
Sadly, the truck is still sitting! I have some parts rounded up here waiting on it, but the haulers for U-Ship are just stellar folks! The first shipper refunded my deposit as he realized he couldn't haul anything that big and heavy. The second shipper I signed with, waned to dismantle my truck in order to ship it. Apparently duals, fenders, bumpers and headache racks are a bit much to haul when its on the truck?!?!?!? I am still working the logistics on getting it here, and it should be soon, LOL!

The biggest problem I found with a company that has car haulers that ship, is that I am finding difficulty choking down the price they want to do it. I have been given quotes no less then 2500. That is a chunk of change to ship!
I have been wanting to get a flatbed trailer, so that idea has hit me a few times. My hold up there, is getting my hands on a truck that can handle hauling it. I would be pushing it with my F-150, LOL!
I actually have things coming together finally, and it looks like I should be able to have it out here to me by no later then the end of December! I will keep everyone up to speed as I go!

I can drop you a call tomorrow when I head into town. I do not have cell reception out here at the ranch, nor a land line, LOL!
This was probably the best engine swap thread i have read regarding so much detail, time and care. I've been considering doing numereous differen't things to the engine in my 96' Bronco... i.e. rebuild, 460 swap, 4bt cummins swap and 7.3L PS swap... You have me set pretty strongly on the 7.3L swap IF I can find a donor truck!

Thank you! Good to see that it helped! Now that I have better internet and cell reception, I should be on here more often, so if you have any questions, hit me up!
