yepp, nothin going on i think i almosthave the front under control after the million questions i asked you, and after the front i think i have quite a bit under control, just wanna get the front 100% right so i feel safe driving my truck
ok question for paul or karl, i was doing some measurin on that dana 60 and found the center, and figured out the gap bewteen the c wedges on the d44 and cut that in half to see how far each c wedge needed to be off center on the d60 and it all seemed to be good except for the c wedges were very close to the outer c's like buttin up to it almost, is that how pauls was or was it closer to the center? thanks
ok looks good that about where mine were, i was talking to that guy who is gonna rotate me c's he has like computerized machinces that are going to set the caster and all that stuff, i cant remember everything he was sayin cause it was over my head, but i 100% trust him, he said im going to want more of 3.5* cast because of the size tires im going to run. im going to mock mine up and get the pinion angle all where i want it...hopefully its not over 15* but i think shes gonna come together real nice.
ok quick question, im mockin up my front axle, i only have one side one. i did no grinding on the c wedges at all, but i have .5" spacers i bought the c's off of bronco and same with 7* bushing but with it bolted up as tight as possible, i still have together a 1"-1 1/4" gap without the spacer, so im still .5" to .75" off anyone know what the heck im doing wrong?
Ok, so i tried reading what was going on here but I got lost between the parties, booze, and girls, and diff covers that didnt work that I wasnt able to figure it out. What is the general direction of this project?
dillinewton gets his wings so he can fly to 4x4 fab heaven. or at least he get's ripped on enough that his skin is thicker and his truck is better. on another note i looked at this thread for the first time today and i'm pretty sure i said not to try and weld on a stock diff cover cause it would warp. i saw what you made and it would be a nice paperweight for a highschool welding instructor, or you could use it to scare small children at halloween. keep doin what your doin dill
At least hes asking questions and trying to do the work himself. So far hes doing a pretty good job with the suspension but I dont see Ruffstuff buying his diff cover design any time soon.
im bulding a 79 ford f150 with 13" of lift and 44's mild 351m unless i figure out a way to get a 460, putting tons under it, chromolly axle shaft. thats about it
