haha if you build it right it should just slide together hahaha, jk i have a perfect hammer for everything i do, just didnt need it today. defiantly made me laugh though
ok i have a very important. what should i do? should i drop my rear anger down to where the top bolts are in the bottom holes, and then make a custom front hanger to drop it equally because im not at the lift i need yet. if sky flip equals about 4 inchs right? if i dont make custom front hanger then i have to run the stock block plus a 2-3 inch block on top of that so i wanna make new hangers but what do you guys think?
Uh, didn't I say that last night? I guess you missed it. cut the backing plate off your new hanger and make a taller plate that will drop your new mount however much more you need. You will have to brace under the frame, and it may even be a good idea to make a crossmember to tie the lowered hanger together. For the front hagnger you will have to do something similar. Look through Nick's (Quadzjr) build thread (pages 37 & 39) for some ideas for a front hanger. If you suck up to him, he may even give you cad drawings....
karl i know you said that last night, but i didnt plan on moving my front hanger anymore cause i already dopped it as far as possible. i have to make a longer styled hang, cause as of right now my leafs are already rotated up alittle the mating surface doesnt sit flat. but thanks for theinfo about nicks
I'd get the body/bed back on it now before doing anymore spring hanger work. Now would be the time to get the weight down on it so the shackle angle can be set & see how the wheels are positioned in the wells.
yeah he could do that, but he wants the truck to be absolutely useless. he plans on filling the bed with dirt and planting flowers in it. gonna park it in the front yard next to the mailbox
well to be honest to why so much lift ever since i can rememeber, i have wanted a monster truck, so now that i can build one im choosin to do so. next one is not going to be near this tall. what you said 8" with like 39s, but ya just want a monster truck so i guess thats what im doing. ya its going to have alot more support, im going to make a 90* that bolts to the backside of it and to the bottom part of the c on the frame. and also im think about running a cross member bewteen the two of them for extra support, but ill see how strong it looks once i get the back side of it done.
I can tell you that not using the entire width of the frame and the strength that will give you is really not utilizing all available strength. So you want to add a bunch of other stuff that MIGHT make it as strong as just going all the way up the frame would all by itself. Hmm someone skipped engineering class.
ok although there would still be the same amount of levarge on its just more farm support, ya that would help, but i do like your adivce though but i just figured doing it that way because thats the setup someone told me to do with the stock hanger so, so i guess im going to re think it tonight.
