I like building stuff on my own but i look at it this way. At work they charge $35 hr for our fabrication time. Figure your material cost plus the hours to make things. More that not its cheaper to buy somethin mass produced that to build it
ya true but i got the metal for free so it only cost me a couple of cutting wheels. and about 4 hours in time. i didnt really wanna build it this way. my orgianl plan was to cut out the cover of the flange, but the flange would be super thin still, so i came up with this design. failed
Rather than use up your metal fabbin' a slap chop for your diff cover how about build some shackles.
1/2x1.5" flat bar works good.
Remember....
a 2" longer shackle will give 1" of lift BUT will start to fubar your pinion angle. In addition redonkulously long shackles bring teh ghey. Think Richard Simmons and Prozon in a butt*****-o-thon.
ok sounds good, thats what ill do that, ya i dont want stupid tall ones. i am going to cut the perches off my sterling and rotate the axle up some, 13 inchs of lift, i wanna makes my pinions angles not so steep. you mean 1/2" thick? that just seems ridicously stought?
i used some djm superduty lowering shackles.....they are plenty beef and have polyurethane bushings and cheap......unless you want to mess around wasting time again.....lol
