I took the SAT's...scored fairly well...

I had a classmate that got a perfect score.

We drilled a hole in one of the forklift blades and put a hitch ball in it to move trailers around...worked great!

That wouldn't work too well for us since we use pintle hitches.

The one we're looking at will cut up to 1" steel and lists for 3700$ but our buddy at the welding supply store says he'll let it out the door for 3,000$ for us.

He's a real great guy to deal with. We went in and were getting a new stick welder (old one grew legs and ran away from home) and we got some new torch tips and a tip cleaning set and I made mention to dad that we needed strikers and the guy asks how many we need. I told him 1 or 2 and he said oh just take them. Great guy to deal with. I can't say enough good stuff about him. He's an old timer and he definitely knows his stuff.

Edit: Was just reading an article on plasma cutters and they had a picture of one for an example it and it was the brand we're looking at. It's HyperTherm 1250 we're looking at.
good choice on the plasma cutter Pete.
once you start using it, you will never pick up a cutting torch again.
i have used my oxy torch exactly 1 time in the past 3 years since i got the plasma machine, and that was only because the piece i needed to cut was too far away from the garage and the truck would not start to get it to the door.

harbor freight has a decent 40 amp 240 volt single phase unit on sale rite now for $649.99

while it is not made for everyday use, it is fine for occasional use in a home garage.
i have had mine for a little over 3 years, and use it on average at least once a week. i just changed the tip last week for the first time.

Dangit. Well good luck Jacob.

I took the SAT's and the ACTs. Good thing too because I scored poorly on the SAT and got a very good score on my ACT. I think it was the science questions that helped me out. SATs are purely English and Math. Math is my weak spot.

Well we have an appointment at the vet for Mattie to see a dermatologist. I hope that doesn't end up costing me an arm and a leg.

I gotta get her a new cone/collar too. She's figured out how to chew on her feet/owies with this E-collar on. I'm thinking a traditional plastic cone will be the only way to go.

Morning everyone.

Lisa when I got my pup spayed, we came home one day and there was half of the plastic cone on her head, and half of it was chewed off! Looked pretty funny, but it did work for a few weeks before she figured out how to chew it all to hell!

Plasma cutters, I love em. I got a mid sized used miller from craigslist, for 400 bucks a few years ago. I got one hell of a deal, the guy was selling a bunch of stuff out of his work shop.

Although plasma cutter are great a cutting torch is still a necessary evil for heavier stuff

I was wondering if the Harbor Freight plasma cutter was any good.I've always been skeptical of stuff like that from them
The specs show it to be 60% duty cycle on the highest setting which is probly higher than my duty cycle now days.1/2 inch plate would be all that I would ever cut but normally 1/8" is the most I normally use

I know for myself, I have never had the need to cut half inch plate. I think mine is good up till 3/8ths, but I havent actually used it in awhile, I kinda forget now.
