Done a little research on the DOT number subject and Mass-confusion is one of the states that don't require all commercial vehicles to have DOT numbers. So as log as you are the you are good
Here is a list that does require them
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, New York,North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

It's a standard two-brush generator off a 42 flathead v8. it's the original one, I'm guessing there weren't a whole lot of choices back then...

exactly like this

If it has a number I think it would be on the head or tail piece,Think delco,Leece Neville, etc was the only one with a tag

Don't know yet, Jim. That teacher lets things pile up for a long time before she grades anything. And she hates me so that doesn't help either.

We had to draw something for that dumb Romeo and Juliet project last year. She said "I know not everyone is artistically gifted so I'm going to grade on effort not content" I spent 3 hours drawing 6 pictures for it. I got a 60 on it. She just plain old flat out hates me.

I checked that too Ray, As long as I don't leave the state them I am ok. With the cabover that I have it is reg at 16K as long as it does not leave Mass no DOT is needed for it. If I go in to RI then I need one. This is per the MA State Police Commercial Truck Division

Paperwork stinks...LOL. Of course, I am swamped with it daily. Sounds like you take good care of your employees Brent and that is great. People don't forget those kinds of things and it's a good incentive / reward. Kudos my friend!
