lmao...does take some talent though you must admit.
Oh comon! What if I don't have a heated shop, and do all diesel tractors come with block heaters?

I have no doubt that with your skills & intelligence you'd easily find a way to retrofit something to it. but that brings a question to mind - are these tractors air or liquid cooled? air-cooled would be tougher to fit a heater to I'd imagine, since engine oil would drain to the pan.... hmmm..

Well then jake, are diesel tractors air or liquid cooled? I get the feeling that the older ones are air cooled, I think liquid cooling on tractors is a somewhat new thing.
the only air cooled diesel engines i have ever seen are dutz and hatz diesels, made in germany.
all us made diesel tractors are water cooled.
And what about block heaters?
?
I was thinking air cooled, because they are so much of a simpler engine, less components. I've never had a tractor motor apart, I'm pretty clueless on this one. Most smaller units are air cooled like the smaller mowers, etc?
Maybe i'll build a tractor with an intercooler.
I'll get a 6.0 for my truck and retrofit the 7.3 IC for the tractor.
Thats a pretty good set up Haha! Currently my drive to work is so short the truck doesnt really get up to operating temp unless its pretty warm out. And my part time job is even closer! lol
You can use wd-40 I believe. I think most of the newer ones have glow plugs, or at least all the ones Ive used. My dads is 20yrs old and doesnt have to big of a problem starting the the winter unless the fuel gells.
If you need any help, lemme know...He doesnt know who I am... haha
You always have pics dont ya?
I cant believe he doesnt have pics!

Maybe I should get one too, and we could try for a 2 for 1 or something!

Oh good lord. Can ford possibly stick with one engine for more than 2 years? I mean if they woulda stayed with the 7.3 until they worked out the kinks and catfights with Navistar on any future motors, they wouldn't be having so many problems...6.0...6.4...now a 6.7..
Bleh!
Besides, cash is lacking for putting a $15,000(?) motor in a $1,000 tractor. I take care of the $10,000 motor in my truck because I don't have money to replace that, either!

smooth moves aren't my style. I like truck talk(especially engines) and guns (oh baby) and fishing and hunting... and... oh you boys aren't ready for the 'and...'

Sorta overcast here, 70 maybe, raining here and there.
Had a chick on one of these try and race me today:
Weird little thing, kinda neat though and pretty fast. We got stopped at a light together and I heard the engine revving, but I wasn't paying attention. I took notice when she burned a little rubber off the start and then looked back at me like, "lets go!" so I buried the throttle (clutch dumped) and I totally screened the entire intersection. oops. sorry. We got to the next light and she looked over at me and smiled and saluted, she turned right and I turned left.
Friendly racing...not something you experience every day, especially against someone on a backwards trike. lol.

Maybe I'm a little old fashioned, but bikes should have two wheels (I had a nighthawk 750) miss it
I've seen a couple of those around here... both had old ladies on them. I find them ugly...lol. the only one I've seen thats kind of (very narrow margin) cool is a trirod.

Don't think I'd ever buy one, more of a 2 wheels or 4 wheels kind of person myself...but it was kind of neat. I had never seen one before...you sorta look at it twice, or three or four times just to make sure you are seeing it right. Does seem that people who are afraid of a motorcycle would be inclined to buy one.
I've ridden some CanAm quads, fastest out there except maybe the Raptors or otherwise modified.
