Good morning Dan! How's life out there? I really need to make a visit to that part of the country!
Alicia - just noticed that your '42 is a "1.5 ton".... clue me in, would ya? Over biscuits would be perfect!! hahaha
It's a commercial truck. It was a dump truck. They built ton and a halfs and two tons for the commercial market. Mine was owned by a small logging co. there were 3 of these trucks. The logging co was bought out by a bigger logging co and they took the stake beds, and the dump body and put it on newer trucks. So mine sat in storage for years with 9017 original miles. It was sold at auction to my uncle who let it sit in a field and I begged him for 11yrs to sell it to me. He finally did, and I'm doing a complete frame off.
I'm sorry... did you mean you wanted biscuits too?

Ain't nothing like a subtle hint hey Brendan.
Good Morning all. Off to argue with the bank. Made a deposit yesterday went to do some online banking this morning and there was no record of the deposit. I called them and got the "Oh we are so sorry we will put in a service ticket for you, maybe the branch that made the deposit can help you" I friggen hate Bank of America.

That's awesome!! Are you keeping the original drivetrain too? I love the look & feel of "classics" but to make them handle, stop, and perform better... awesome.

I don't want her to complain about me being vague, ya know?
I am keeping it original as possible. It's a very sexy flathead V8... who would want to change that?!? AND it has two speed reverse... how cool is that?
I am going to put a flat oak bed on it.
The only debate is the electrical. It's a 6 volt poss system. If I convert to 12 volt neg then I'll have to put in an alternator. I like the look of a generator, but 12 volt may be more functional... *sigh* I'm torn.
With a flathead and 2 speed reverse, ya gotta keep that stuff!!
The 6v vs. 12v issue... that's a tough one. Originality is awesome, but when most tools & bulbs have been 12v for.... I don't even know how long... I know this won't be a daily driver, but still... tough call there...
Sheldon I've never seen someone type "kickass" so many times in one night.
For once I was in a not bad "kickass" kinda mood haha. Must be cause my motorbike parts are getting closer, and I might get a chance to ride before winter yet!

Funny stuff!
By the way I would go 12V. Just my own personal preference. I would have also said you should throw a modern v8 in your truck, but the more and more I hear a flathead v8, the more and more Im changing my tune. I also have a respect for an original ride, and think its very cool when one is fixed up like how it was driven back in the day.
Morning everyone else. Hope everyone has a good day today. Mine will actually be fairly boring, but sometimes I guess thats ok. Its sure nice having my new house at the stage its in right now, I actually ahve space to set up a "gym" of sorts in the basement!
so you wait till it is 40 below to put a long sleeve shirt on Ray??
Actually in the mid to low teens, but been around a lot of yanks that were freezing their a$$es of in SW Fla in the mid 40s
You can offen see me wondering around the yard with a T-shirt in the mid teens
Good morning!
Sheldon- the 4.3 should be great, ours is a 350 with RV cam, but you only wakeboard at 16-17 MPH. I would think the bigger concern would be the prop, our top speed with the wake prop is like 35mph. Your boat would be great, and it looks really nice. Congrats on that purchase. I remember my buddy Drew working the pipeline a few years ago, he bought a new 4.6 Mustang GT just from the OT...good job, when it was there for him.
Brendan- Let me know, it's really great here until about November..then we gotta wait the rain out to go shooting.
Dan- Good morning, I'm heading over highway 2 this weekend, hoping to take some great pics. August, September and some if not all of October is amazing. Hard place to beat isnt it?
We look to be in the upper 70's to 80's this weekend and over 90 where I am heading.
Off to work, I'll check in tonight.
EDIT- Good morning Alicia, nice to see a new avatar! I didnt look at your album but if my bro Brendan approves, well then it's all good. Good to have you.
Thanks Sheldon, I'd like to think Mark would have approved. I loved sending him pics of stuff and having him say "nice, if it wasnt for the plastic decking crap." lol Sound like our friend??? lmao. I miss that guy....
I still havent been able to delete his number from my phone yet.....

I put him up for the weekend though, buy his fuel for the truck, work on his truck, (2002 7.3) and bury him in Jack D and crown till he cant take anymore. It works.
Hell Id buy a boat and drive it cross country for a weekend like that haha
BOA sux. I refuse to work with them as a lender. They've screwed too many of my clients.
Wear something sexy... you're gonna get screwed
Problem solved. They told me that it would be 48 hours to reslove this. I kindly told them that in 49 hours I would be closing my account and take it to another bank. A few phone call later by the bank manager and they found them and it is all set. Is jeans and a blue t-shirt sexy?

Is there any infor ,name plate or such, on the generator? There are a couple of old timers around here that rebuild stuff like that maybe it can be rewound for 12VDC.
