Morning Chris and Jim.

Jim what I did is get some of the wiring done. I got the utility room all wired up, and thats about it so far. The latest setback, is Im not sure how to drop the ceiling in the basement and to get all my wiring set for that.

I have a 9 foot ceiling, and some of the ducting, and water/sewer pipes hang down below the joists, as well as I have a huge steel beam that runs lengthways through the house and hangs down a little, and Im trying to figure out the best way to get a nice looking ceiling, and I would prefer drywall!

Oh and Brent, thanks for the compliment on the boat! I would like to get a different prop, and was looking at one of those 5 bladed stainless ones. They are supposed to make an inboard plane out really nice and fast. Right now the top speed of the boat with two people in it is somewhere around 50 mph, maybe a bit less.

As for the oil patch work, I might go out there in the winters and make some extra cash, ya know pay off the house and the land as fast as possible, but we will see. The company I worked for has called me a few times trying to see if I will go back, but Im really not too sure. They actually want me to move to their city which I dont wanna do, but I could have a really high paying career if I did that. But I really like my farm too damn much!

Is there any infor ,name plate or such, on the generator? There are a couple of old timers around here that rebuild stuff like that maybe it can be rewound for 12VDC.
I thought about that too, but really if its gonna cost more to convert, I don't see too many downsides to 6v...

Drywall on the basement ceiling is nice but it is an electricians nightmare. A simple job of adding an outlet is next to impossible without cutting up the ceiling. Some of the drop or suspended type ceiling panels now look really good. They even have the tracks in color. Before you really set your mind in stone on drywall think about future additions or repairs that you may need or want to do in the future.

Morning All!!

I would go with acoustic tile in the basement also, Sheldon...it is easy to install, easy to change, the track is paintable, and you can replace individual tiles in case of water leaks.

my,my...people just coming out of the woodwork last nite!

I'll make a couple of phone calls today and see what I can find out. The 12V conversion shouldn't be too bad price wise. Mostly relays and bulbs.

Yes I do and that is why my ex is my ex and and J-L is with me and not her mother. I would show her some of the drop celing tiles and expalin the mess that it will make when you have to cut the drywall for anything. If that fails then tell her that Jim said so.

Yeah Im thinking in the end we will just do that tile stuff. The woman doesnt like it cause everyone else in the world has that. Ah well, in the end I could care less.

As long as my shop goes up the way I want it, then Im a happy camper!

Thank you. I appreciate that. I'm rewiring the entire truck,( redoing everything) so there is going to be some cost to it either way.
