Tom. I told those mice they'd be welcome at your house. Don't turn me into a liar now.
well, since you admitted it, i won't. i had to ask though, cause when i found their little tent city, there was a sign over one of the tents that said "Lisa sent us"
On next year's Christmas list:
And finally, a view from inside the combine:
you think it is cool sitting in them, and it is. but run one for 15-16 hours every day for 3-4 weeks straight, and you will never want to see one again!!
I dunno Tom, I grew up on the farm, and after I moved away from home I worked for a farmer as a hired hand, and I loved running equipment! Give me some tunes and I was as happy as could be. Never had a sirius which would even be better now.
I do think it takes a certain kinda person to enjoy it though.
Wow is what both Lynn and I said at the same time when that ended. Those girls are amazing!

Taking Lynn to church, then get to wash the truck and do some shopping at Fleet Farm. Wooohoooo! It is supposed to be close to 60 here today. I will check in later. Have a nice day folks.
A guy on some equipment forums I use was on a job in Washington state. He was running a PC400 and they wanted him to fill a dump and pup trailer in 90 seconds or less and if he broke a sideboard on a truck he was off the machine.
.
I hualed on a job a good while that was loading with 385 Cat hoes. They could easily load 3 triaxle dumps in 90 seconds (can't remember the exact time).I would back in shift from reverse to first wait just a few seconds and leave.
If an operator broke a board the company had to buy the board and pay an hour truck time to replace it

It does take a special type of person to be an equipment operator.I always sad an operator was born not trained and the wrong person on equipment could be dangerous to himself and others around him
A few years back a Haition operor was walking a dozer from one part of a job to another and somehow managed to run over himself with the dozer.Figger that one out
I've been around equipment all my life so getting in any size truck or on any piece of equipment is just like driving my pickup
Mornin' folks -- the only "big" stuff I've driven is military deuces or 5-tons with bed & tow-loads. Also the big all-terrain 10k fork. I like that one...
We convoyed from Dallas to New Orleans after Katrina, then right after that, chased Rita around and when it didn't hit Houston & cause a lot of communication infrastructure damage, we came home. LOL... So I've logged some hours in a seat, but not full time. I like driving the big stuff though. I think you're absolutely right, Ray -- once I've been in the seat for a few minutes, it's like I'm in my own pickup.
Oh, just found a pic online of the big fork I was talking about. Totally forgot is said "John Deere" on the side.
EDIT: A little different shade of "John Deere Green", don't ya' think??
EDIT2: Here's one painted yellow with a bucket on it. Ours has the long-tine fork for picking up aircraft pallets or entire equipment shelters...
