I'm not a total **** about it...I've been eating some bad things now and again...I've been working out 4-5 times a week...usually at a 500 calorie deficit each time I work out...and I've barely lost any weight. I can't figure out whats going on. I must be doing something wrong.

I've gone low carb before and lost a lot of weight that way.

Are you eating several small meals (like 5-6, including small snacks) or 2 or 3? Your body can go into "starvation mode" where it keeps weight on anyway. That's another hard part about this. I have to force myself to eat sensible, small snacks during the day. There is a whole diet plan with this program, and I'm modifying it a little. Instead of buying their products, I'm sub'ing other similar ones (protein shakes, protein snack bars, creatine "recovery" drinks, etc.).

I try, but as you know its not so easy.

One of my biggest hurdles is that I am totally not hungry in the morning, but starving come dinnertime. I fight the urge to eat a big dinner - which is how we were raised.

I've been forcing myself to eat breakfast in hopes that I can control my appetite at night.

Afternoon everyone!

I eat throughout the day as well. I usually do skip breakfast for a majority of the weeks but when dinner comes around Im fine. Ive done that off and on since high school when I was in training. College screwed me up big time but I think Ive gotten back on track for the most part. The stationary bike and weights is all I do along with yard work and now my new job and Ive almost gotten 20lbs off me since January.

That P90X program looks pretty intense from the infomercials I see.

Good luck with that Joe.

Most days I eat breakfast. Usually on my days off I don't. But when I am working, I have about 5 small meals per day. That, and following a "non-committal" approach to working out at the gym has netted me a 15 pound weight loss since Christmas.

Well, that's not completely true. I worked my *** off last year to get down to 185. Put some Christmas pounds on, and just got rid of them recently, so I'm back to where I was before. I've got to get my body fat checked again, last June I think I was 17%. I'm sure it's about the same, but I want to try to get it to 10. Or 8 even, without losing any more weight.

I ve lost about 10 lbs since January. My avatar pic is one of me at about 280, it was taken last summer. Since then I had gained about 40lbs, because in the wintertime I am not moving around, and doing things. My sleep patterns have been screwed up for the past few months also. I have found that since Alli, my oldest, and I have gotten out and played basketball, and since I started coaching Ansley's softball team and actually participating, that the excercise is getting my sleep patterns back right, and helping alot. I have cut the carb count down in my house (since I fix the meals) and Alli and I have both lost weight. The bad thing is that Pam, my wife, and Ansley, have the metabolisms of a horde of tasmanian devils, and if they cut back they get dangerously thin. Alli and I have been leaving the mashed potatoes and rice alone, and have been eating lots of good carbs in moderation.
Now that DST is here and it has turned warm I plan on keeping myself busy(like last weekend) and limiting myself to 1600-1800 cals a day, which by its own rite is hard to do in my buisness. As most of you know I am a grocery distributor, and I work with some of the finest chefs, and cooks in Alabama, who are always asking me to taste their latest creation, or help them develop a new recipe. (which inevitably means fried, and covered in an ubber fattening sauce) Chefs are like kindergartners, if you tell them "No, I just ate." or "Dude, you seriously want me to eat dessert, after I just sampled 9 of your entrees!" they get butt hurt, and think you dont love them anymore, and then dont buy as many groceries, and your paycheck goes down. A viscious cycle, true, but it pays the bills right now.

I started with the Nutrisystem, DID ONLY THAT for the first month. then half and half Nutrisystem and eating less, and now just eat the fruit and veg and eating less.

1. Nov 15lb

2. Dec 15lb

3. Jan 8lb

4. Feb 8lb

5. Mar TBD

I just realized I started in Nov and not Dec. So either way I lost some weight. I might have leveled off a little so I might have to start exercising to lose more.

I agree.

What's everyone been up to?

It's spitting a little snow here. No accumulation, but it's still miserable. It's cold too.

That's EXACTLY what my problem was/is, Lisa. I feel so weird eating little snacks all day. It just doesn't feel "right".

Yeah, after my meeting, I hung around the office a little, then went home for lunch. I had an eye app't at 1pm today. I'll be turning 39 in June, and I've been getting these weird headaches for the last 2 months or so. Turns out I have a bit of a need for some lenses, and my right eye is worse than my left. And I have an astigmatism. But I still have 20/20 vision, it's just I have to focus harder. I hope these make the headache go away!

Either that or they're just sympathy headaches for Cris. Maybe if she gets hers to go away, mine will. LMAO!!!!

Glasses aren't so bad. I've been wearing them for 4 years now.
