Ok, can i butt in here with a couple of stupid questions, 1st, the coach company that modified the crewcab that I bought, cut out the floorpan in the back, can somebody hook me up with a pic or a link showing the factory rear floorpan just inside the rear door, just a pic with the rear door open, I have to remake the step area between the seat and the door.
2nd, does anybody have a cab that has sagged in the middle, I took a string and went from front fender to tailight, my cab has drooped in the middle, I realized that when Ford did the crewcab build, the welding was poor, alot of the welds have failed, but this thing was a ranch truck and went down alot of dirt roads. So it took a pounding, I will try to cure it by adding a center cab mount and reinforcing the floorpan in that area. I dont know what else to do, I plan on trying to jack up the cab in the center and leveling the bodyline. but really the question is "does anybody have a crewcab that has sagged in the middle" mine is likly a exception as it had a whole bunch of weight in the cab.
Any help would be cool, otherwise, I will figure it out.
Ok, I got carried away with the whole adding a center cab mount and reinforcing the floor pan thing, but I made the mistake of looking under a 99 F250 to see how much of a difference there was in floor structure, our trucks have very little compared to modern standards, and I have been in a few vehicles that have been folded up, so I did what I could to help beef it up. The flat spot in the middle of the new sheet metal rail is where the center frame mount that I added goes.

Looks good, I did something similar under my bronco, nice places for rust to start. Any plans to coat the inside of the rails?
I painted them with Rust-Oleum rattle can before I welded them, then I am just going to pump some in and blow it around with compressed air, I thought about the old school solvent based undercoating, then thin it and blow it around inside, but I dont know yet.
though you guys might enjoy these. its one of the first things you see when you pull into a guy i knows driveway. i guess it came from the ship yards in portland and doesnt have a title so its destine to sit in this spot for the rest of its days. kinda sad cause its not in bad shape, been sittin for 15+ years and the motor still turns freely. only rust is where a dent was in the roof that water pooled in which is pretty amazing for the pacific northwest.
That truck would be awesome to rebuild. I thought every state has the option for filing for a lost title. Thats what I would do. Whats under the hood an FE eng and what yr is it?
i still want to buy it.... dude u nvr repleied to me
sorry the guy kinda pissed me off. he said that he decided he doesn't give a flyin f*** who wants it he is not selling it to no one, he is just gonna scrap it.
