I have a 72 2wd crew cab. I need to replace the cab mount bushings but can't find out for sure what I need. The front and rear mounts are outboard of the frame rails. I think the 4wd trucks are the same.Anyone replaced theirs? I want rubber ones, not urethane. The only source I have found for the 4wd is aftermarket urethane.

i think lmc has the kits, all rubber. but dont expect LMC to know what vehicle their parts fit. the bushings are identical to the regular cab/ 2wd/4wd. and should be the same as the later model 73-79, so look in both catalogs. polyurethane is a superior material however, but rides stiffer. there are older threads in here on how to replace the parts themselves. hope this helps.

Yes, it does. I found another post that stated them to be identical to the regular cab.I just wanted to confirm.I placed an order from DC for the cab and core support pads already.I was surprised that the people at DC didn't know the answer.I put a 7.3 diesel in my truck and really want the isolation of the factory type mounts. Thanks for the info.
I purchased my 1986 F-350, crew cab, 4wd, long bed, single rear axle, 6.9 with Banks, auto, XL for my wife (at her request), for a restoration. She has now fallen in love with and purchased an 04 F-350 King ranch with all the trimmings so now I have this truck which I have put a ton of blood, sweat and tears into. I really wanted one with a manual tranny, so my question is: Would the conversion be worth the trouble and cost or should I purchase the style I want and use the 86 as a parts truck?
I finally get to join this thread officially...lol....Just brought my 78 Crew Home wednesday 7-15-2009
1978 F-250 Crew Cab Shortbed 4x4
Missing Engine (Was a 400)
Missing Trans (Was a C6 Auto)
Missing Transfercase (Was NP 205)
Dana 60 Rear 4:10 Gears w/ swaybar (Supposedly a Limited slip...But Haven't verified yet)
Missing Front axle...(Dana 44 Low Pinion Highboy Disc Brake axle installed for rolling purposes Until i find another Dana 60 High Pinion to go there)
Tentatively....8 inch lift...39.5 to 42 inch tires....stock body...possibly a Cummins swap...maybe a 77 grille instead of the 78...i'm partial to the split grilles....would love to find the race track specific trim for the crew as well...then do a 2 tone...just not sure on colors...i kind of like the yellow...lol
