Wink

Never done it myself, but this seems like the most popular method of converting a 2wd CC to 4wd. More research will prove it. Seen a few like this.

Thumbs up Crew Cab to Super Cab Frame

The front cab mounts are the same, the back mounts on the Super Cab frame are wider than the crew cab body. I did this and had to remake the rear cab mounts, easily.

Did you have to stretch the frame at all for the 8 ft bed? Seems like your frame should have still been 7 inches short. Thanks for the info everyone I will let you know what I find another 4x4 crew just popped up in the area. So may not have to do a conversion after all.

Talking Got One

Well it looks like I won't have to do a conversion after all. Picked up a 78 4x4 with a nice clean 390 np435 conversion. And a bunch of extra parts. AC dash w/ vents and ducts, grill insert and light buckets, door seals all 4, anti rattle kit for front doors, gauge cluster, carpet kit NIB, and 2 rolls of dynamat. He also thinks he has a grill shell and will send it to me if he can find it. Truck is completely cancer free and only 3 or 4 significant dents. Was on ebay but I picked it up through craig's list. A few bonuses too good tires in a good size, seats are pretty good and has the round lights.

Don't know if you can see a closed item but if you can let me know what you think.

Happy to join you here in the crew forum. (I've been lurking for about six months)

Got the drip rail moldings from Dennis Carpenter, they fit well and look great, a bit of damage from shipping but nice. Cheap too.

Just thought I'd stop by and say hello since it appears I'm becoming a crewcab junky. Its all "Todds79"s fault really; I seen his and fell in lust for one. So now I have my own 76 crew winter into summer into forever project. Glad this thread exists, I'm sure I'll be back with LOTS of questions !!!!!

Where to get door panels for 79 crew?

I have been trying to find some door panels for all 4 doors but all I can find is the ones for the front 2.Does anybody know of a website or a place that sells them or if you can use the front for the back doors to?But I don't think you can because the panels on the back doors looks smaller. Thanks

Different panels - and from what IU have seen - nobody sells replacement. Which is why there are expensive when you find them used

Expensive is right, I sold a set of rear tan panels on ebay for over 400 bucks.
