I have 2 rear doors for the 73-79, and one needs the window crank and locking ***. The panels are cracked but not bad. I am selling them. My project fell threw I wanted to do what Chasetruck was doing. CUMMINS SWAP!!.....
What has everyone done for the roofs of their trucks?
Had mine smashed by a HUGE cedar tree...that got repairs under way QUICK! If you stop by the oldfordcrewcab web page and look me up (same username) the pics of rebuilding the roof are there.
I live in Colorado, in the springs ( colorado springs) I don't know how much to ask. I was told that 400$ isn't a bad price for them. BUT who has that money at a time like this? Then theres shipping...BAH...
i know this is for 73-79 crews.... but i like my slicks... and after reading... and thinking... and trying to figure out something that would look cool... and no one that i might ever know would have... is a uni-body...(integeral cab) crew cab... you guys know what im talking about dont you... the body style made from 61-63 (i think they starte in 61) where the body and the bed are all one piece... wouldnt it be kind of cool to take the bed and cab of a uni, and weld it to the back of another truck, making it into a uni-crew cab?
I have 2 crew cabs one is a 2002 4x4 7.3 and the other is a 2007 4x4 crew cab 6.0 and both have body and paint problems the 2002 roof is getting a hole in it and has no other body rust not even the frame. the 2007 paint is bubbling up on the hood and the passenger door I called ford and ask about them about fixing the the hood and door and they just blowed me off. In the warr. it says "defect in factory material and workmanship" this sucks the truck is not even 2 years old and they won't fix there defect built ford tough must mean driving a truck that looks like crap. They made up my mind I will park it in my yard and put a big sign on it. that ford does not stand behind it craftmans ship..

PLEASE - pay attention to what thread you are in before coming on here and ranting. I too am not a fan of new fords (or 99.9% of newer cars in general), but this thread is NOT the place for that

I've been looking but the problem is that I never see them. I've only seen two in real life and none up close. They're prolly around, just hiding from me.
I've Got a 2wd '78 shortbed with a/c with a 4wd frame to go with it, if you're looking for a project. Is south-east Indiana too far?
OK, so I dont know where I live... I'm in south-WEST Indiana (I'm not sure where "southeast" came from). Looks less than 3hrs from Jackson. The '78 is driven daily, and will go right on the 4wd frame. The fame sits on a D60 rear, high-pinion D44 front, both with 3.55:1 gears. No T-case, but a 400M & C6 (2wd) with low miles are sitting on it, if you want them. The '78 has excellent floorboards, but typical rust above the drip rails.
