I sand blasted and painted my bud wheels this fall. Lots if work but worth the effort, plus it's good to say you did it. Summit racing has a good paint line. And I picked up a hplv gun at HD. Worked great for me. Most of the cost is in the paint. I spent $450 on a gallon of red paint!!! From a local paint shop. Try summit for paint. They have videos too.
I will try to find the correct plastic primer in a spray bomb (not sure if they make it)....there is a local place to me with a camera for taking a picture of custom paint and will match the color in spray bomb...hoping to do the whole thing without buying a ton of extra material.
I am trying to trouble shoot the instrament cluster on my 1978 F350 Crew cab. The fuel, oil pressure, and tempature guage take turns working. Sometimes they all work, but more often than not, the oil pressure gauges don't work.
I followed the advice that the connections were dirty. Cleaned them with CRC Electra clean, using a Q tip. Put the cluster together and all the gauges are working ok now.

Reason: Fixed them.
That truck has been on there atleast 3 other times...
The paint job would probably kill it for most....it does for me anyway.
If it was painted all white it would prob be worth about 14-15k to me....provided the body isn't full of mud...being in Ohio increases the value to those in the NE.
Anyone know where to buy a replacement "Crew Cab" red emblems found on 78-79 trucks?
I couldn't find any aftermarket ones.
There used to be a seller listing those on eBay. I think they were just the stickers to stick on to your original mount. Not sure if they are selling them there any more or not, but it's worth a look if you haven't checked eBay yet.

Yes I saw a link on here for a small-time website/shop that was reproducing the stickers....the problem is I don't have the housings either.
I did check ebay before posting here....I was actually pretty disappointed in the small amount of emblems listed for 67-79 trucks.
Guess I will have to look at next yr's trucks at Carlisle and pay big money if I want them. bleh...
I haven't mounted those seats in question, but having done a few custom seat mounts I'll tell you it'll probably get "fun" with these. They seem to not only be 2 separate pieces/seats, but also look to fold forward & therefore have some locking mechanisms for that in their base/mount.
To mount them you'd be looking at doing a custom rack/bracket that tied the 2 pieces together & then bolted to the floor. They seats would bolt to this bracket/rack, and my guess is you'd want to build it to replace the factory brackets on the Yukon seats.
While not quite the same you may want to search for the 40/20/40 seat mount thread I made here a while back. It was for my front seats (out of a 2004ish superdookie), but the front & rear mounting patterns are the same in these trucks, so just pretend it's for the rear It will at least give you an idea of what you're looking at with trying to get those seats in.
I guess that means that everyone's trucks are running great and they are out playing .
I found the wheel and tires I was looking for. Now I just have to get it running smoothly again.
