Looks like im going to have to run to sears. I dont have a socket deep enough for the ipr. I just removed the spare ipr from the old hpop and had to use a wrench. Thats not going to happen with the hpop in the truck.
no but the fuel filter housing is in the way. The last one I did was on my 95 and I was able to remove the FPR and get enough room. may need to unbolt the fuel filter housing just so you can push it aside.
oh god no! it will come out, you can get in there it just takes some finegeling, i have never pulled anything other than the top plastic cover off, and they do make an ipr socket but its more of a pain than the wrench.
I just want to say as an outsider with zero technical input to add here, that I'm amazed at the time, effort, and commitment you guys are putting in to help FordForever out. I cruise the other forums and rarely see the kind of help being shared like happens here. That's why I'm here.
i'm just here to try to help you guys out, i got so disgusted at ford for the way we had to deal with repairs and flat out lie to customers that i am going to reach out as far as possible to keep you from having to ever go there for a problem. i appreciate the comment it makes it all worth it
- fordforever, sorry for the delay the page wouldnt load it said technicla diffuculties and an email has bean sent off, or some crap like that, it happens alot lately to me but i'm back finaly after 15 minutes of clicking refresh

that may work on a sueprduty but every OBS I have done you can't even get the coil off with out moving the filter housing.
he doent really have the equipment for that, the ipr is easy enough to pull out. i dont know if his scanner has active comand functions, if it did he could do an airleak test by closing the ipr and removing the icp then instal a homemade adapter in the head with an airchuck fitting and slap your house compresser line on, then all you do is follow your ears for the leak
We moved a couple small lines out of the way & it took about 10 minutes to do this...At least that is how it went on the 97...Does he have the pics of the R & I yet?....
That was easy to change. All I had to do was get the fpr out of the way. Tried cranking it but wouldnt turn over. Im going to let the batteries charge and run the pid again.
