hi tj I've been pondering on the idea of turning my 1997 single wheel 2wd power stroke into 4wd. now i have not found one thing that points in the direction of the build i want to achieve . so i have read some of your posts and found you are the only one with any kind of sense on this type of project. i need some direction because i love the damn thing. recently i have done extensive work to the engine making it to the point this truck won't hold traction dry or wet i have also done a complete rebuild of my tranny to a stage 2 heavy-duty dual disc torque and all components. now for my questions

    1. what do i need to do to my fresh 2 wd trans to convert it to 4wd in a correct non hillbilly but not outrageously priced manor ?

    2. what do i need to do to my drivetrain including front and back and does it differ depending on my front end set up

3.i need to just know the details of the whole project broken down to an understandable form from start to finish

Hi Tim. I was researching a problem I was having with my 97PSD E4OD tranny and came across a few posts from you and linked to your photo album. I cant believe the coincidence when I saw the pics of your 4WD Shifter Maint and Mod! Somebody else had referenced your post on that and I am not even sure it was in this Board! Unbelievable coincidence! I am having issues with my shifter too. Shifts smooth between 4H and 2 H but totally frozen from going to N and 4L! Seems the problem is the shift mech is corroded/frozen and wont let me push it down to move the pin down below by the transfer case into position. Did you do a write up on the maintenance and modification job? I would appreciate any advice or links you could provide. Thanks, Kevin [email protected]

I saw that you had sent some diagrams to some other folks on here. By chance can you send those to me too? [email protected].

    Thanks Paul

I'm dealing with my 3rd misbehaving clutch safety switch on my 94.5 psd dually 350. Each time problem is the same - no starter turning with clutch pedal on the floor. Pay $$ to parts guys, install new switch, problem solved - for a few months! These switches are plastic junk - this is getting old. Can you email me a link to a wiring diagram that will show the starter circuit, so I can install an emergency bypass switch in the starter circuit? There are two circuits in this switch - one for cruise control, one for starter circuit. I need wire identifiers so I know which pair is the one I have to work with. Any help you can provide will really be appreciated.
