well, 300 is better than 38, but you are still shy, you still have an icp issue, still no codes in the pcm i assume? your ipr may be bad as well, do you have a function that you can command the ipr? if so you can check for a possible air leak in the system by removing the icp sensor and screwing a airhose chuck into it and hooking your shop air hose up,(you have to make an adapter) tehn close th ipr valve and listen for air leaks, if you dont hear anything then the ipr is bad
yes, you can remove 1 high pressure oil line at a time, your choice left or right, get a fitting that will block that line off, this will isolate a bank of injectors\rails, try to start, if nothing reconnect and do the other side, if still no start then block both lines and crank while watching the icp if it is still below 500 you have an ipr or pump problem
i just rechecked the book to cover myself here as its been a while, the book says if you get to the point that you block both lines and crank then you need to see a minimum of 1000 psi, thats rigth 1000, if you dont get that then replace the ipr valve and retest
oh and also according to the book, 54% is max ipr for a 94-97 7.3 no start condiotion so the scanner may be a little off
and cranking ipr is less then 30 on a normal engine
key on engine off is 14%
Well its not new but it and the hpop came of my truck it was working. I had to replace the hpop due to a stripping fitting. The one I bought came with a ipr in it.
i'd isolate the heads first then the pump, go from there, you definatly improved your oil pressure but ther is something else preventing it from building, whether its the new ipr, a leak or a bad pump
It started! But only on one bank, the drivers side. I plugged the passenger side and it started up. While cranking I saw 1300 on the icp. Now when I plugged the drivers side I got 0 on the passenger side. With both plugged I got the same as when they arent plugged, about 300. What does this mean?
you need to pull the valve cover on the passenger side and inpect the injector dumps while cranking, odds are one of them will be pouring oil out compared to the others, you probably have an injector bad...oh and unplug all of the valve cover harnesses, there should be no oil at all from the injector spouts while cranking, just rechecked the book,
