check your main harness going across the left valve cover where it lays on the metal bracket that bolts to the front 2 valve cover bolts, thats about the only 7.3 wire chaffe point other than the melted uvc harnesses
if all of the easy stuff checks out make sure you have fuel pressure as well, my guess is goin to be uvc harness or fuel problem, but i have had 7.3's start with one dead bank so i am a little leary on just a harness here
Ok, those things check out. I also tried something I read in another post. Someone said if you unplug one bank, and try to start that should throw a code. I did that and still no codes. That person said if it didnt the pcm is bad. Maybe this scanner isnt compatible with this truck.

But thinking back to my symptoms this doesnt sound like a pcm problem. Between my intermediate hard starts and hiccups on the highway. Certainly sounds like a uvc gasket from what ive read in the archives.
the hiccups and instant no powers with ses lights i will go with, but an all out no start i am against the uvc unless 3 of the 4 are melted which is highly unlikely, like i said before i have had 99-ups driven in with a whole side down and still run but i suppose anything is possible
I agree with you there. Any other suggestions? Seems I have some time before AAA gets here. They cant find a flat bed big enough. Worthless. I could check some things out while I wait.
Wonder if it could be the IDM? Just a thought. Someone here recently puled theirs and it was full of water. I wonder if you are getting water in there every now and then and now it is finally done. Long shot but a thought.
I have a spare idm too. But you're right on with the no code. I really dont get that part. What can cause a no start situation without throwing a code. CPS, fuel? I just got back from my shop and I cross a few things off the list for sure:
A have a question about the fuel. I was alone so it was impossible for me to check the pressure. But I did drain the bowl down and tried to start it again. After a few cranks I open the bowl again and it was only 1/4 full. How fast does the bowl fill up.
Now the cps. Im going to pick a new up at the dealership in the morning. The one I had was the old one I took from my truck a few years ago during some preventative maintenance. It worked at the time but im not convinced.
Thanks for all the help so far. We'll fix it im sure.
I think I found the problem. Wasnt the cps, but I had to be sure. I decided to take a closer look at the uvc gaskets again. Turns out one of the plugs on the passenger side was fried. I dont know how I missed it the first time. Does any one have a part number? Its the harness that plugs into the uvc from the glow plugs and injectors.
So would this really cause a no start situation? Just one burnt connector. I read in someones post that a fried uvc gasket fried their pcm. I really hope that didnt happen here.
