Lab, so what ever happened? What is your vin# so I can check out what happened with your vehicle.
I'm currently awaiting a DSB decision. Seeing as the DSB is run by Ford, I'm sure it won't be in my favor.
The FTC gave me some really good info and there are other laws you can use to sue the manufacturer and they must pay all accrued expenses involved.
Make sure to file your complaint with the FTC.
Don't sell the truck. You'll lose your *** on it and Ford will never be responisble for the problem they created. You're just making it easy for them. I put a 3rd of the money down on my truck and I'm not about to lose that.
Been reading all of your posts, but unfortunately AFTER I bought my 2004 F 150. Got it September 22, 2004. Have not made the first payment yet, but the truck has had new tires, damper kit, and new driveshaft.
Luckily the state of Florida does not recognize Ford's DSB so I don't have to go thru all of those troubles. I can go straight to my state's lemon law. I filed the papers with Ford to give them one last try to fix the vibration and if they don't, I start the lemon law.
I will let you all know how I fare when it is all said and done
i noticed with the generals if veh sits overnight and the tires are cold the next morn..the veh will shake , until the tires warm up..it's getting much colder here..and i'm noticing that now..tires are only 2weeks old..
Zeusdog, What site are you going 2 to pull the info by Vin. If you don't want to post will PM with it. thanks
I will just go to the service department and have them look it up and print it out for me. For some reason Labrador still hasn't answered any of my questions. I sure hope he can help us by giving us this information.

What do you mean "luckily". Why would Florida have to recognize Fords DSB? It has nothing to do with state law. It's much easier then going through the steps of the Lemon Law, which you should do any way just to CYA. My lawyer recommended trying the DSB first. It's free and just might get the results I'm looking for. I've only heard of one person getting results (Labrador) but have yet to see any proof. You can also look into The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Using this you will get all your monies back.
If none of the above posts work, try this. I had the same problem for 5 years on my Ranger and just stumbled upon the cause and solution about 2 weeks ago. Surprisingly the problem was the lug nut covers. They were so unbalanced that at high speed they caused my whole front end to vibrate. I had the tires balanced and rotated previously and the vibration just seemed to move around the truck. Changed the tires completely thinking a bad belt and no fix. 2 weeks ago, popped off the lug covers and the problem disappeared. It is so obvious to me now, I don't know why it took me 5 years to figure it out. The tires are never balanced with that lug cover installed.

Has anyone tried removing the driveshaft and driving in 4 wheel drive ?
G-Mann-63 Glad you can make me smile do not get that from driving my truck. I am wating for my paper work from DSB and from the State Of Texas for The Lemon Law. I have talked to Ford's CRC and they tell me that they want to talk to the Dealer and see what they can do. I can read and will not wait I WILL do everything that I can from filing to the DOT, NTSB, and anyone else that will listen. The company that I work for buys 300+ Fords a year for our business and they know also and are trying to get some word from them in Fleet. WE STILL CAN FILE A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT. that will give them a black eye. I have sent a link to FORD and to all that will listen to look at all we have found that is the only information we need to give them. WE need to get together and give them an good hit.Well PM me and we can get the ball rolling If we get enough people on .
Just got my F150 1 1/2 weeks ago and THEN started reading about all these vibration issues. I took my first road trip in it this past weekend and sure enough, I felt some vibrations. I had a dirt bike in the back that weighed maybe 200 lbs. It seems to be the worst around 50 - 55 mph and then a small vibe at around 75 mph. Not too bad at 80+. It's a 2WD scab Lariat with 3.55 limited slip diff. and towing package. I looked and it has a build date of 9/04 so it has to be one of the last of the '04's. I thought I saw somewhere that they updated the steering racks in the later build months. I noticed a very small "shimmy" in the wheel. I figured that it was just the vibe from the rear end moving forward in the chassis. Any hints on how to handle this with the dealer other than raising hell and being a *****? This is a company truck and we have bought probably 15+ trucks from this dealer this year alone so I am hoping that carries some weight with the dealer. Other than this issue I absolutely love the truck. Got the Audiophile sound system and it really rocks. Never driven such quiet vehicle before.
Also, I found that the "in channel" vent visors aren't worth a crap. Put them on and it sounded like I had the window rolled down 1/4". Completely ruined the quietness of the truck. I drove it about 10 miles before I stopped and ripped them off.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

By luckily, I meant that I have to only jump thru one set of hoops to hopefully get my issue resolved. Unless I am mistaken, the DSB has not looked too kindly upon all the consumers of these vehicles. Maybe there are people other than Labrador who have had a satisfactory experience with the DSB, but I believe it's a very small percentage.
I will post any results I have with my meeting with the Ford rep and the Attorney General's Office if it goes that far.
