My 5.4 starts to vibrate as soon as the transmission shifts into overdrive. The dealer has been straight with me so far. He has followed TSB 04-3-3 and put the vibration damper on the frame which reduced the vibration but did not eliminate it. He acknowledged that and told me it's probably the transmission and that Ford has told all the dealers by video conference that a new TSB and fix will be out around Thanksgiving. Sounds like a lot of dealers aren't being as straight with folks.
I've got 7300 miles on my 04 SC Lariat and it drives as smooth as a Lincoln. I guess I should thank my lucky stars for that. But it hasn't been all smooth sailing, mine uses oil and has a very rough idle. It's been in the shop 4 times and everytime the the dealership touches my truck, they create more problems. I've always been a Ford truck man,but I'd like to get rid of the 04 and buy my 94 back.
Sent Ford my Lemon Law paperwork on 11/8, got a call from my local dealer to meet with the FSE on 11/23. My service manager stated the FSE had a new TSB that even they hadn't seen yet. I will get a copy or at least a number at our meeting.
My dealer wants to put me in a Taurus, has anyone been "upgraded" to a vehicle at least equal to the one they dropped off??
In Georgia the Lemon Law Waver form says that you give up your right to sue if you use the process and that you must first use the manufactures binding arbitration if it is available. The DSB rejected my first application because I did not include the GA waver form with my application. I guess every state is different and I know that the DSB/arbitration can not be used in a few states. The process took a while but I won my case.
Lab, I don't know what you are talking about. The DSB has nothing to do with state or federal law. You won so it doesn't matter. I've asked you a couple different times for your trucks VIN# so I can use your case to benefit mine and you haven't given it to me yet. Will you please provide the number. Also, what did you end up getting after Ford bought back your vibrator?

There was no reason to put a damper on your truck. Also, that is not the only thing TSB 04-3-3 says to do (as we all know). And none of the procedures work. All I can say is good hunting.

My dealer at least put me in another Vibrator F150 unless I had to wait then I had to be put in one of those POS Taurus's. Who in the world would buy one of those cars? Those are the worst vehicles I've ever driven. But anyway.
Where do you live? If you live in the DC Metro area you will meet with the same FSE that I did and it is a waste of your time. He will tell you that the vibration is a "characteristic of these trucks" and they can't fix it because it is normal. He'll tell you that it is because the truck is "so road sensitive".
Don't dare take this truck on a gravel road. They drive horribly and bounce all over the place. It's the worst driving pickup I've ever driven on a gravel road. Even on bumps on a paved road the thing jumps off the pavement like it's a po-go stick. I don't think Ford marketing ever drove it before advertising how smooth they drive, obviously they do not.
Your Ford dealer needs to put you in the same vehicle.

I'll put up I fight, but the service manager said all they had were the Taurus or Focus!!
My dealer has an Enterprise rental car place right on the lot and that is where I got my rentals from. All of which came with the complementary vibration. Tell them to pay for a rental and send FOMO the bill. It's not your dealers fault, it's Fords.
If your truck is anything like mine it is too dangerous to drive if you are hauling or towing anything. When I loaded it up with firewood the vibration was much worse and the truck was difficult to control.
You might as well be driving my truck. I am concerned about a trip this weekend. 4 of us will be driving the truck towing a trailer and 2 of them smoke. I asked the dealer if the truck will be safe when on the highway, towing the trailer, and one of them opens the rear window?? he said he couldn't tell me it would be... I'll let you know if it was. Zeusdog I hope things work out for you. This is actually amazing to be treated this way for investing good money in a company's product and expecting it to at least be safe... my wife wont drive it and my daughter cries if the rear window is opend cuz she thinks it's gonna fall apart.

As far as I am concerned, the truck is not safe. My guess is that Ford is waiting for somebody to be hurt before they fix anything. Just like they did with the Firestone tire problem they had a couple years back. They knew the tires were bad but continued to use them until they started blowing up and people were seriously injured or worse.
Yeah, it sucks being treated like this. After all the trouble you go through when making such a serious purchase. All the time invested in looking at and researching all the other brands, test drives and having to deal with all those annoying car sales people. Then deciding that you "think" you've picked the best one and you plunk down your hard earned cash in good faith that if anything isn't right it will be corrected. Only to find out this isn't so and the major Ford Motor Corporation wont do anything.
Make sure you file a complaint with the FTC and NHTSA. This is how recalls get started.

Like I stated every state law is different. I'm in Georgia so I must use what the DSB and the GA Lemon Law told me to. A few states do not allow binding arbitration (DSB), I was told that by the DSB. The DSB boards are regional with the headquarters in Michigan and every case is reviewed independently so my VIN# will not help you. Sometimes too much information could be a bad thing, the board is there to help. I got my wife a Honda Pilot and I'm driving her Accord until the new Honda Ridgeline SUT comes out in March. http://trucks.about.com/library/phot...sema_gal02.htm
Lab, please provide the rest of us proof so we have hope.

Yeah, seen the ridgeline. One ugly truck, but the new F150 is about as ugly as they come.
Why don't you just give me your VIN# so I can go to the dealer and get a report on it. This will help my case and probably others. What is the big deal? Come on, help us out.
I just got a letter from Ford " consumer affairs. Lourdes Fonesca-Nearon. "Fore Motor Company has reviewed your claim. Unfortunatly'we are unable to offer any assistance at this time. Thank you for the opportunity to review this concern" I think consumer affairs is the correct name, because we alll know what happens when you have an "affair" . I was promised a visit from a regional engineer to review my proble.rm. It never happened
