There is a new Tech. Service Bulletin for nibble/vib that was issued on Jan26. I just had that TSB performed on my truck a couple of days ago. I didn't actually see what the TSB said but my service manager told me that FORD has found the problem and that tires are to be road force balanced and then the hubs are to be realligned and counter balanced. I told the service manager that this TSB has been out for road forcing for awhile . What I was told is that on the new f150s the engineers put a bigger space between the hub and axle to keep them from welding together like on the older f150s. So far the nibble in the steering is gone I will find out for sure when I take it on a trip next weekend, will keep you posted......
my vibe has been hidden not fixed. the dealer replaced;trans. mounts, cab mounts, 2 tires, installed dampenning kit, drive shaft and some sort of u joint kit??
5visit to ford still vibrates maled dsb papers iI went TO A GOOD TIRE SHOP the other day. i ask the servis manger if i bought new tires if he thought it would coure vibratino. they are willing to road force balance a set bown to 15. they drove truck said it not the tires. they wrote up a work order on what they thought was the problem. I MAILED this and one other with my bsb papers. I feel certen this will help ps. THEY WOULD NOT SELL ME TIRES. Seak other opnions out side ford.mail with dsb papers
This is kinda off topic but my truck is going in Wed. for the steering wheel nibble and I am to recieve a loaner. Anyone know if I am entitled to another f150 or am i stuck with a hamster wheel powered focus or something?

I don't think there are any guarantees as to what you are entitled too. The last time I took my truck in for the vibe fix (rear end), I asked for a truck and he said he would be glad to give me a truck loaner, but they were all loaned out at the time (this is an Enterprise Rental company at the dealer). So they gave me an Explorer. But then they called me back 30 min later and said that a loaner truck had just been returned, so I went and swapped the Explorer for the F150. Bottom line is to ask for the truck if they have one available, but realize that if there aren't any available, then you might have to take what you can get.
After 7 trips to the dealer, my truck would still vibrate only when it was cold.
I have a Sportsman grill gaurd on my truck and you could see it rock back and forth like a dog shaking it's head. My windshield wipers would literaly bounce off the windshield. All this would away after a few miles of driving.
I have General tires (now with a 3 year warranty) and I told them about the problem. They said my tires are flat spotting.
They inflated them to 32psi when they did the force balancing. I put them at 44psi and the vibe is gone. What does that tell ya?
Ford bought back my F150 screw
on Feb 26.I got full purchase pric less pay off. Also received credit for payments made .Write a letter directly to Ford ceo. Be sure to use a good address. Talk about putting the ad in Michigan news papers The dealer hasto go to someone at ford home office to got it done.Remind the dealer that when you sue under the lemon law you sue them to.Talk to them about putting an ad in the local papers seeking other people with the same problem The ad would also warn potential new customers about the problem IF the dealer thinks you can affect future sales he is very motivated to helo.Notice I said the dealer not the service manager.
Had mine in today. They wanted it to go to the Body Shop for the bed vibration. No appointment, of course. They had to reschedule for 3/21. Their computer mysteriously showed that I had never been in for service. I'll bring them the paperwork from the other 3 times. I'm ready for a Silverado!
Im having same problem Vibration. What kills me is that some or all of you guys have the new body style and I have old body style and ford still can't fix vibration problem.
My truck 2004 f150 heritage 2wd scab. The dealership tried to fix it but couldnt.
3 driveshaft
dampering kit
roadforce rear tires
realined trans with rearend [dealership said it was fix after they did realinment]
dealership had a field service engineer road test my truck. he said [ the fse determined that the vibration felt by the customer occurs due to rough road condition and when driving on smooth roads the vehicles performance is fine].
Forgot they also said Im over-sensitive.
service mgr at dealership told me 4wd trucks don't have this problem. So I have to buy 4wd trucks to have no vibration.
Purchased truck in June 2004.
when threw dispute settlement board. WHAT a joke that was.
TBS
if you've got it in a heritage, that just goes to show You it's in the drivetrain and not the frame or the truck itself,as has been said by some ford people,
and Yes it happens in 4 wheel drive trucks. mine was just bought back by the DSB, and lukily so..
I was driving it on the highway, cruise set at 75, and it started just shaking uncontrolably, with massive steering wheel shimmy..
whatever is causing this vibration sudenly got way worse,
and then after about a 3 miles it stoped and went back to a little more vibration than it had before..
I bought a 05 F-150 Scab 4x4 Lariat. it was made in Norfolk VA production date 12/04. I have Goodyear Wranglers LT275 65R 18 load range C with the cast Alum wheels. This truck does not have any of the vibs everybody has been talking about. It rides stiff but is quiet. I started to watch the bed from my rear view side mirror and could not see the wiggle I have read about. I do have the counterweight/damper. Maybe they fixed the problem for 05 or I got lucky. I live in the San Francisco bay area.
