The offer from ford is not DSB.This is the offer ford makes to keep from going to DSB. You have to buy another ford of equal or greater value MSRP.You don't get credit for any addon's,your finance charge may change no rebates apply. Read very carefully before ypu sign.
I won hands down. Mine truly has the problem, but I have drove others which don't, so it's not all of them. Still, I won't get another F150. Taking my refund and getting an F250 instead. Ford makes a great truck and they have the best features and power. Getting a true lemon is a rare thing, but it did happen to me. Since Ford did the right thing, I will stick with them. I still think the F150 has too stiff of frame and there should be bushings between the frame and bed rails. That box wobble is amazing! Can't be good in the long run.
Still trying to get a replacement for my truck - problem is selection is down and finding one like my old one is taking some time. Luckily the dealer is being very cooperative. I did drive an 05 King Ranch 4X4 and I couldn't believe the vibration - man it was terrible. Have driven other 05 Supercrews 4x2 with no apparent vibration. May have to go back to Ford and ask for an extension of time to find a replacement. Definitely looking for a manufacture date to be as recent as possible.
I am leaving now to go pick up my 04 4X4 SCrew 5.4 that has supposedly had the vibration fixed. I know for sure that I at least got a new set of tires. I'm not sure what else has been done but I will follow up later. It is about a 40 mile drive on everything from windy roads to interstate and if I have to I will turn arond and go back to the dealership. Can someone explain the DSP process just in case?
Rhymer21,
Get the phone number for the DSB from your owners manual. Call and tell them you want to file a claim. They will send you and application to complete. Be sure to include all of your work orders for service. I included a llisting of events in chronological order starting from the day that I purchased the truck. I think providing all the detail you can puts your case in a better position to be accepted.
the DSB turned down my case said it could be fixed.
I guess you've got to get a lawyer. If your repairs meet your states lemon law the DSB should've heard your case. They didn't so talk to a lawyer and see if you have a case. This is total BS. Don't be fooled by the DSB. The DSB IS Ford Motor Company.
I'm still working on my buyback. We finalized the numbers yesterday. I should be vibration and Ford free in 7 to 10 business days. (Ford days, probably 20)
It took them 42 days to call me with the first set of incorrect numbers. The letter said everything would be over in 30 days.
Wait until your truck burns your house down, then Ford might give you your money back.
Got truck Oct 21/04, 3 times to dealer,3 unsuccessful attempts to repair vibes,ie...Drive shaft, wheel rebalance, and finally rear-end replacement, talked to technician, his words were "theres nothin else we can do to fix it", with service mgr listening, so that was my cue to go elsewhere to find a solution,
now Iv'e thrown the issue to the Lemon sharks(lemon law lawyers), still waiting for results, really like truck, just want to get issues fixed correctly,If vibes left unattended, obviously other issues will rear thier ugly head, don't need it, so we will get a replacement

Can everyone with the vibration problem list 4x2 or 4x4 and what plant they were assembled in? Look at the next to last letter in the VIN:
i.e. 1FTPW12575FA74127
B - Oakville, Ontario D - Avon Lake, OH E - Jefferson County, KY F - Dearborn, MI G - Chicago, IL H - Lorain, OH K - Claycomo, MO L - Wayne, MI M - Cuautitlan, Mexico N - Norfolk, VA P - St. Paul, MN U - Louisville, KY Z - Hazelwood, MO
I am looking to buy an '05 Lariat Screw 4x2 and I want to avoid the vibration if I can. (Murphy's Law says the more I try to avoid it, though, the more likely I am to have it on the one I buy) The one I'm looking at is a 'K"
Before anyone jumps to conclusions, I'm not expecting the labor force in any one plant to be lazy or (insert your own adjective here). I think a bad batch of differentials, or whetever part is causing the vibes, might have been distributed to one or more of the assembly plants. It's worth the investigation I think.
Mine was made in Claycomo (Kansas City) in April 04. 4x2 Screw Lariat. I've had a new driveshaft, ring and pinion and road force balance, dampner kit and my new driveshaft balanced. If you look at trucks when you drive pay carefull attention and try to keep the truck between 45-50, that is when my vibe is the worst, right after the shift into overdrive.
Mine is also a K. I have had the vibration since 1500 miles (currently have 26,000 miles). It has been in the shop 3 times, 5 new tires(Continentals w/ 17" wheels). Road force balancing fixes the problem 99%, but it comes back in a few hundred miles. I think it is mainly the tires. I have not heard of many people having vibration problems with Hankooks or Michelins.
