Been a rough week. Overheated last Wednesday and still feeling the effects. Went to the State Fair Saturday and bought a Purple Bed. Priced them all over and this by far the best deal we came across.
Sunday my wallet was lost or stolen. We have it narrowed down to Costco Eugene or the Oakridge A&W. Credit cards have all been cancelled, new ones in the mail, Oregon Marine Board Card is in the mail& VA SC card was just mailed out today.
Tomorrow morning I get to go into La Pine and stand in line at DMV. Oh joy!
And just to add insult to injury I managed to break my glasses.
Good afternoon Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Been a very busy morning. Not only getting ready for Diamond Lake on Sunday, but trying to plan out finances around the stolen wallet / credit cards. Got the drivers license replaced yesterday. Need fuel for the boat and pickup. Costco pumps are card only. When I talked to Citi (Costco) on Monday they were expediting the card saying I should have it yesterday or today. This morning I got a text saying they had just mailed it. I think we should be able to use my wife's membership card and her debit card to get the fuel. We'll just have to transfer money around and do some juggling.

Not a joke! We got there just after 0800. The parking lot was full and people even parked blatantly in no parking spaces. The line went from the front door half for half a block. Good thing it wasn't snowing or raining. It didn't open until 0900. By the time it opened the line was back to the street at the end of the block and around the sidewalk along that street. It's open one day a week and its reputation for lines precede it, thus why we got there close to an hour before it opened. Even after they opened the lines outside remained. They only had something like 15 very narrow seats inside so we just stayed outside where it was cooler anyway. Took about 10 minutes to get the lien holders off the titles, address updates completed and the stolen ODL replaced. Got finished up between 1130-1145. $292 for 2 little pieces of plastic with updated addresses on them. Removal of lien holders from the title is a simple matter of hitting a delete and a print button.
Special legislative session started today for the Transportation package where they want to tax us out of the state. Tax increase does beyond raising the taxes on gas, the raises to licensing and title fees is crazy. As a real life example, our bill yesterday was $292. Had these new taxes been in effect, our bill would have been $590.
The democrats are preventing us from submitting any testimony on the bill at the moment. Have some written up ready to submit, but so far a no go. I've been talking to a State Rep this morning and she is keeping me updated.
Stopped at the Wetlands Tap House for a Rueben Sandwich and beer on the way out of town.
Have to run. Hopefully have more time later this evening.
Wow Jim, That's quite the wait to get your DOL stuff done. Here in my neck of the woods you can go on-line and set-up an appointment ahead of time, then when you get there you sign in on a computer and get a number. It works really well, I've been there a coupe times now and I think the longest wait was less then 5 minutes.
