Belated good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Sunny warm day. Got out early but the fishing has been very slow. Looks like an Algae bloom might be under way. Really piled at the shoreline this morning and a lot floating suspended in the water column in deeper water.
Had a fun fight on ultralight gear with a 22” German Brown. Got him the fish safe net, picture quick measurements with a flexible fish tape and back into the water he went.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else.
On the down side, the boat comes out of the water this afternoon.
On the bright side, it’s a beautiful morning on the lake. I was also able to fix the electric boat winch on the trailer yesterday evening so I didn’t have to remove it and replace it with the manual hand crank winch.
We’ll finish breaking down camp & the load out tomorrow morning, load the camper, dump & clean tanks and be back at Bravo Compound tomorrow afternoon.
Good morning(?) Oregon and everyone everywhere else.
We’ll darn it all! Started raining at 0500 this morning. Means we’ll have to finish loading with wet gear. So nice yesterday and everything was all dried. BBQ last night, saw some stars…..
Got some stuff loaded in the boat yesterday afternoon and even though the forecast said only 30% chance, I decided to leave the covers up on the boat. Unfortunately we have to take the covers down on the boat before we can put the big ice chests in or travel the 50 miles back to Bravo. The dining canopy is still up, so it will have to be put back up and dried out when we get back and other gear will have to be dried out before it can be repacked up for the hunting trip.
Our other choice is to extend our stay one more night. Supposed to get warmer and have partial sunshine starting in an hour. By this afternoon it will be all dry and we can get loaded, leaving later today or early in the morning.
We’re getting in a tight time crunch now. Painter called yesterday and is starting the house painting at Bravo tomorrow instead of Wednesday, a shipment coming into Bravo has been moved up to tomorrow and a shipment with a setup crew due Thursday has been moved up to Wednesday….

Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Started out at 27 this morning here at Bravo. Dogs running from the pond to the NW fence line and tearing through the meadow. Back inside it took 5 minutes to have just about every toy out of the toy box and tearing up the living room. I guess they are glad to be home.....
