Good afternoon Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Thunder and Lightning rolled in as per the current Red Flag Alert. Now heavy rain showers. I thought the fall o meter at 2.8" p/hour was bad, then it dropped off to 1.5 and then a burst came through at 4.2. Sounds like a locomotive on the roof.
Missed all of the lightning but drove home through some pretty heavy rain and wind. From just south of La Pine we had a colorful double rainbow manifesting off to the east of us.
Several nearby lightning strikes. A couple of very small fires not too far away but they should have been pretty well drenched.

Had a Red Flag Alert again yesterday afternoon and night. Missed most of the lightning as we were in Bend. Driving home though, lots of heavy wind all the way and from Sun River area on south, we had lots of wind and heavy rain. Several small fires were started by lightning, but I think all of them were pretty much 'nuisance' type of .1 acre or less. Heavy rain apparently keeping them tamped down.
