Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Made it out and into town today.
Plugged AG5 was pulled out, unplugged and reinstalled. Addition outside WiFi repeater was installed on a mast I put up on the well house. It’s line of sight to the Starlink Router which is the parent router. It’s also line of sight over the top of the cabin to the original repeater on the south gable peak mast. Original repeats the signal from the new repeater. Should have coverage now over a good chunk of the 11.6 acres for a variety of things.
Got repellent for varmints and sprayed down applicable areas of the Rec-Storage building. One squirrel came took objection and bolted. We had a bit of ring around the roses and then he darted downstairs. Snoopy was waiting. They wen round and round with the pine squirrel darting out the sliding glass door with a big yellow lab hot on his tail. No sign of the other two yet.
Left a machine on making a very obnoxious pitched tones so we’ll see if the camera pick up any signs of them tonight. They had been showing themselves several times a night and during the day. So far, nothing in 6 hours.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 68.5 under clear blue skies. Grass to mow and repairs to the Gable end of the house and the Rec-Storage building. Between woodpeckers and squirrels….
Morning all, been busy enjoying retirement. Working on a new deck on the tiny home here on the compound and helping my 85 year old mom move from LaCenter Washington down to Salem area. Hoping to start on the old Ford once the rains hit.

Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 60.3 and climbing under clear skies. It did get pretty hot here yesterday. After the dogs made a couple of runs down the lane following me and spent some time chasing squirrels, I took them down to the pond. There was no hesitation, both hit the water and weren't too willing to get out.
Didn't get any mowing done. Dogs and I chased squirrels for part of the afternoon. Gave the Rec/Storage Blg. another spray down. I think we got two squirrels out the sliding glass door. A 3rd one I'm not sure of. The dogs gave him one heck of a run for his money though. I had the pellet gun, but the only time he would sit still enough for a shot was when he was right in front of the big downstairs window overlooking the river. Breaking that would not have been good. Got the pole barn cleaned up a little and eliminated another ground squirrel digging holes in the back yard along the sidewalk. Also got some cracks sealed up in the concrete. Need to put another coat of concrete patch on some of that.
Something big digging two big holes under the lane road about 1/4 mile up from the house. Put a trail camera on it to see what it is and what action to take to put a stop to it.
Road trip in a couple of hours. Doctors and business to tend to in McMinnville and Sheridan.
Wayne, Nice display of old tractors and steam engines.
Jim, Good luck with the rodent removal, looking forward to seeing what is digging the big holes. Badger maybe?
I don't think it is a badger. Never seen a badger hole that looks like that. This is more of a big trench type hole, but not big enough (I don't think) for a coyote. I can't imagine a coyote burrowing in under the lane like that. There are a couple of coyotes that make nightly and sometime daytime trips up and down the lane heading to the pond and the meadow - old horse pasture. It's about 2/3rds of the way up the lane to cross bar with the stock gates. The animal is strong enough though to break off chunks of asphalt. I had 3 trail cam pics this morning of a golden mantle ground squirrel on the road near the holes. There is no way one of those little critters did that kind of digging. Even their big holes would barely be big enough to fit a golf ball.
Afternoon guys, upper 90's here in Prineville.... Spent the morning working in the shop, got to hot about 1400 and I came in to enjoy the A/C.
Wayne, I did see the hit and miss engines at the Fair on Saturday, they are cool.
