Some work that way in metro / suburbia. Remember we're out in "pioneer" country and it's only one day a week so the La Pine office does not do much of anything beyond admin stuff. No driver knowledge tests, no drivers' tests. You can make appointments in Bend. A lot of people around here will drive into Bend, Prineville or K Falls.
We didn't have time to wait for an appointment in Bend since we are leaving Sunday. I should have been able to replace the stolen license and change addresses via the online account. I went through 10 pages of forms, got them all filled out and hit the pay button and they flashed a sign up saying it could not be completed online, I had to come in in person. To be honest, that was frustrating and ticked me off. They could have told me that when I first put my ODL number in. When I told the gal in the office about it, she just smiled and said, "yep that's our computer system at times".
We'll be on a trip, and I needed a new control number. Since the license is reported stolen, the old control number will have it "flagged" in LEDS and NCIC as stolen so I don't need that hassle. The ODL number doesn't change, just the control number assigned to the ODL #. That control number allows you to log into the online account. I don't expect to be stopped, but out on the boat it would not be uncommon to get checked by either County Marine Patrol or OSP Marine/Fish & Wildlife Division, and they use ODL's to verify Identity against the Oregon Boaters License.

Forgot the purple earlier. It's just another make and typ0e of mattress. I've heard a lot of good things about them so we're going to see. We've got a 6 month try it period. One of the fellow and his wife got one, liked it so much, they replaced the mattress in their Arctic Fox Camper with one.

Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Got to camp at Diamond Lake late yesterday afternoon afternoon. The disaster of the past week is already starting to melt away…at least a little.
We usually time the Sept trip to start on or the day after Labor Day but had to get here a day early this year because of the calendar and other factors. It took all of about 15 minutes to remember why.

Camp set up today and boat goes into the water this afternoon.


Your project looks really good Chris. The mini sure makes quick work of it.

The trench is back filled. The mini excavator paid for it's self with just this project.

We were running late so decided to go to the Diamond Lake Lodge to get some dinner. Got seated, got menus some coffee and ice water and our waiter disappeared to the football game on the TV & texting or something on the phone. Short version, over two hours to get food. They heard about it and will be hearing about it.
To add icing to the cake, my “hot roast beef” sandwich was more like cooled to chilled roast beef. Even the mashed potatoes were cold.
First time in all these years that we’ve had such lousy service and food. In all fairness the appetizer plate was hot and good although it was brought at the same time as the rest of the food. The Warden said her cod was good & hot.
