2023 General Chat......
Jim, I think I'd move everything now and rent out the Sheridan house. Is that a yote or bob?
Chris - stuff happens. If this is constant problem then I could see why you'd be on thin ice, but anytime you mix vehicles and people, at some point there is going to an accident. With all of the people and equipment I have, ****** happens. It's not if, it's when. Hope it works out for you.
Chris, we are spacing it out and not sure how long it will take to get fully moved up there. I'll have to admit, now that the snow is gone, it is getting harder and harder to come back down here. Still have a lot of farm estate stuff and other things going on here that requires our presence. The weather has improved, and we are doing what we can to take advantage of it. We may save the U-Haul truck for later when the rains start again. We also have decided to not cancel most of the camping plans we made for this summer. Some of the shorter gadding about sightseeing things are being swapped out for moving.
Beginning with the G2G, a couple of camping trips with friends, two 2 week trips to Diamond Lake are all still on. We probably won't take a week or two to "goof off" on the way home from the G2G like we usually do and a trip to Paulina and East Lake is off as those would be day trips from the house if we really want to do that. The difference being that after the G2G we will leave the Camper in Gilchrist and stage out of there since starting with the G2G, most camping and fishing is centered around there anyway.
Rich, we blew the picture up and I did some photoshop enhancements. Compared it with other known pictures and the taxidermy at Cabela's yesterday. The conclusion is that there is a strong possibility it may have been a wolf. It looks like it may be wearing a collar - its hard to say, but there is something black that is on the neck that does not look like hair. Talked with a friend and showed him pics who is an OSP Trooper working Fish and Game division. He thought there was a good possibility and is going to make a couple of quiet inquiries at ODFW about a collared wolr in that area. It seems the general rule of thumb is that if there is any question at all then it is probably the neighbor's dog. According to ODFW web site though, they are claiming known Wolf Activity in this area. "Upper Deschutes Wollves" is what they are calling them. It was way too big for a 'yote. I now have a cell cam hanging on that tree but so far only elk on it. We did have a couple of river Otters come visit Sunday morning. They didn't stick around long, they seemed to have business to take care of upstream, but they were fun to watch while they frolicked around on the bank for a bit.
We've been debating back and forth on getting some work done and then renting, selling outright (probably NOT) or just keeping it as a "snow bird" place when we get tired of the snow up there. Just aren't sure what we want to do at the moment.
One thing is for certain. In the next week or two, the boat is going to get de-winterized.
.
Lunch break in the lumber yard today.

Jim, Would not be surprised if it were a wolf as I here they are around. With all that meat in your yard can't blame them. The winters could be fun over there for sure so keeping the prison house makes sense.
Liking the weather too but it's pretty much killed the fishing. So far it's been a total dud. :-(
Snow Melt!......A couple of days ago, just a couple of mud puddles.
This morning along the Little Deschutes River. Snow melt filling the high water channels.
Almost. Some rearranging, loading the pile we have here, including a large ice chest and off we go!
