Good eveining Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Just getting home. Reunion wasn't bad considering it was put together on fairly short notice and there was a death in the family. Idaho, Oregon, California, Washington, Virginia and Massachusetts were represented. We had suspended the event a couple of years ago because of Covid and a death in the family. A little excitement this year. We had 8 head of cattle get out and take off. So, we had us a bit of a roundup that took an hour and a half or so. There's still one out in the brush. They are going to try and lure her back this evening with her calf.
The funeral is Wednesday at 1100 in Salem. I guess we'll be sticking around and going. We're going to have to rearrange our plans, but we will still make the G2G.
Sounds like a winner Chris. New plans now are going to the Funeral in Salem, the church lunch for family then internment at Bethel Cemetary. Shoot for home, switch to truck and camper and take off for Gilchrist, getting in sometime Wednesday evening. Fix the irrigation systems elk damage Thursday morning and then departing for Cottowood Canyon, hopefully pulling in there around 1500 / 1600 in the afternoon. Friday morning around 11 to noon heading on up the hill to Don's.
Morning all, back to the regular grind. Too many things going on last week, glad I took it off. No more sketchy scaffolding, finished that side of the house and took all that down.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Up to 41° under clear blue skies.
Pickup and Camper are loaded and ready to pull out of the driveway and climb the mountain.
But first a Funeral in South Salem this morning at 1100 for one of my favorite cousins. All of that probably won't be finished up until around 1530 or 1600. Then we change clothes and are off for the G2G in Condon via the Gilchrist place for tonight, Tomorrow morning before taking off from Gilchrist I have to repair the Elk damage to the irrigation system. Then it's off to Cottonwood Canyon on the John Day River for tomorrow night and then the G2G on Friday.
