Has anybody here ever done the Vermont title thing? I just read up on it the other day, SOUNDS simple. The way I read it, all I need is a signed Bill of Sale. Does NOT have to be the same person on the title, does NOT have to be from/in Vermont. Do NOT have to be a Vermont resident. You have to pay Vermont sales tax (based on book value) & applicable registration fees. They send you a set of Vermont plates & registration. That is all they use & it qualifies as a title. You can THEN take THAT to Misery & get a Misery title in your name. IF anybody here HAS done it, #1, is it REALLY that easy? #2, any advice/tips/tricks please? I wanna get this thing legal & on the road! My temporary plates expired about a week ago.
I would check with Mo DOR to see if they will accept the Vermont paper work. There were companies that use to do the same thing with Alabama paper work. Voodoo with you selling them the car, them registering the car in Alabama, and then selling the car back to you with Alabama paper work..
Missouri does NOT accept that kinda paper work.
Don't know the year vehicle your trying to title.but newer stuff would be even more difficult.
Good luck
What time and where is the show? I might have to run down for lunch.
Well, there was a mix up, some poor communication between my wife, who handles the "office" side of things, and the event coordinator. Turns out, it's today from 6-8pm. Even if I had food cooked I wouldn't attend a 2 hour event. I was under the impression it was all day tomorrow. It seems my wife got events confused (she's been on the phone for days setting up numerous events). Now I am scrambling to find a venue this weekend, as I already made 30lbs of potato salad, and the 7lbs of dry beans have been soaking since last night and will need to be cooked. If all else fails I will set up in West Plains at the Farmers Wife dispensary next week, but I'd prefer an event.
I'll keep you guys posted.

1984. I guess I need to research a little more. Current (not good) title is Wisc.

Thanks, can't drive that far for lunch. Maybe next time.
Well, it's more dinner/ late night thing here. Opening band starts at 5, headliner at 7, over at 10, but the brewery stays open late. Drunk people at a concert are good customers for a food vendor. I know I'll sell to just about everyone there, just not sure how many will be there. Hoping for alot, I spent $500 on food.
I might need a place for Sunday if it's not busy Saturday. Thinking I'll just cook half of that meat and plan a second cook. Makes for a rough weekend with little sleep, but the food is fresh. People can get days old reheated meat at any bbq joint (most cook 1 or 2 days per week), but fresh from the smoker is always better.
I don't know. I'm all over the place right now. This wrench in the gears on my second weekend in business is really messing with my head. I need a drink.
pat i think in missouri each county has different ways of replacing lost titles.. in ozark county you have to have the vin verified by the state police vehicle inspector .. which sometimes you have to carry down to the headquarters in willow springs to get done.. then after you get that form signed by the cops yu carry it down to the courthouse and have the judge sign it.. then carry the paper work on over to the DMV and she sends it in to jeff city.. and in a couple of weeks you get a title in the mail.. i used to do several a year, before i became a useless feeble old man....
Dave. I have the pump and gauges here. If you feel like making a road trip, I can help you out.
That sounds like a plan to me Alan. The parts should be here sometime next week and as long as Mother Nature and asthma cooperate, I should be able to get it apart, flushed, and back together next weekend. We can then figure out when our schedules match up to charge it back up.
In other news, we're without phone or internet this weekend. The local power co-op hired a group to go through and clear the brush and trees from their right of ways. In the process of clearing the lines that go to the house, they flattened my phone post out in the yard. Phone company can't get here until sometime Monday so there's not a whole lot of cyber stuff going on here. I voiced my displeasure to the power co-op who were supposed to relay it to the person overseeing the folks clearing the lines, but who knows if they actually did or not.
Fortunately I can use my phone to get some internet access to keep up with my Ford peeps. LOL

I got my cat all stitched up from his fight last night. Then I took a cruise through the swap meet. It was a huge waste of time. I saw TWO fuel cells. One for a street rod, the other for a circle track car. No race parts to speak of. Only street performance stuff. Not a single blower for sale in the whole place and only three blower intakes for a hemi. If you needed any small block Chevy parts, you were all set. NO. ...NONE 385 series Ford parts except for a stock oil pan I stumbled over. Very disappointing. I did manage to find an early dent grill shell. It needs a little work, but for $20, I won't complain. Otherwise, it was a bust. If you don't make it down, you aren't missing much.
Sorry to hear that the swap meet was a bust. The last couple of times I made it, it was mostly GM stuff and what Ford stuff I was interested in was priced ridiculously high. I thought about going this year, but decided not to. I'm glad I didn't really miss anything.
I too was planning on going but with my Idaho trip freshly accomplished and a screw in my jaw where a tooth use to be I decided to get caught up on stuff here. One reason I go is to also meet up with old friends but all cancelled so another reason not to go. I do agree Ford stuff is minimal at best there.
RJ dang the schedule mix up hang in there. RC you do the same and hang tough. And good evening to the rest of the Missouri clan. Alan do you not need that fuel cell I got you anymore? At least I seem to remember getting you one. Black, square, with 2 hold down straps and a big fill port cap? Or is my memory shot?
I am getting down to the wire on free time and about to get on the road later on next week for a while.....
Rich. Yes, that's the one that's in Earthquake, but I'm building a second truck and while I have the major pieces, I need to start gathering up the other stuff I'm short on.
We're waiting on the rain to let up so we can move all our yard sale stuff in to the yard. There's a TON of baby girl clothes and some other stuff. I'm gonna throw out some stuff, but not a bunch, I don't think.
