Good morning youins. Out in the shop listening to Road Hard Roadhouse and bending sheetmetal, came inside for coffee and figgered I'd log in. Have a great day all!
Had quite the storm last night from what I understand. I was inside the Emergency Vet Hospital when it all started. By the time I got out, the exciting part was over & I just got to drive back to the apartment in the dark & rain. I don't know if they're any quicker than people hospitals or not. 4 hours, they decided she had a urinary infection & gave me medicine for her. Catching a cat, especially since she's ALREADY ticked off over being taken to the hospital is one thing in itself. Actually GETTING the medicine down her is ANOTHER story! Yeah, sure it's easy. Just wrap her up in a towel & squirt it down her throat! Have you ever tried to wrap a cat up in a towel AFTER catching her? Want some exercise? Try it sometime! She'll be kicking & squirming & you can't just lay the towel out & lay her on it then start wrapping. SO NOT happening, trust me!
Well after a good start on my departure flying outa Alabama yesterday afternoon, then it then went down hill fast. We were REAL late leaving Dallas due to a mechanical issue with the plane. Almost had to get a whole new plane, of course the issue is only found after we all were loaded. I know better to find the issue on the ground than while in the air.
Then the weather near Springfield last night almost made us divert to Arkansas and we would of had to wait it out. Before finally getting to come back to Spg and land.
Penny was at the airport waiting on me because I had to turn around and take her on a tight timeline to meet her sisters for a sister weekend deal. I am busy doing work on the computer and about to go crazy.

Gloves aren't a bad idea R.C. Think I may've heard/seen that before. SO FAR the wrapping her up in a towel seems to be okay. I still need about 5 hands, 2 to hold the towel tight so it doesn't come unwrapped, 2 for the medicine (1 to hold the bottle & one to do the syringe, then still one more to hold her head steady when I try to squirt the stuff down her throat! I LIKE the hermit idea. I do that A LOT!

I'm the same way RC. I was getting that way and with working at home now because of the Covid thing has made it worse.

Morning , got a small white oak log yesterday .
Well yesterday afternoon a ex con i loaned a chainsaw to a year ago brought me a bigger saw back and got my chipper that i neaver used $ and thanked me for the grube stake . Gave me a new outlook .
I've got a question for y'all. This FIRST pic, reminds me of SOMEONE here, but I can't (Rich) think of who. The SECOND one, I have NO questions about! It reminds me of the one, the only, autograph signing, sunglasses wearing, Earthquake Monster Truck owner/operator!
Well, my first event went great! A couple of hickups trying to sleep in my truck with trains going by every hour blowing their horns at the crossing, which was just above my head from the sound of it. But the cook went great, the fedtival was crowded, the weather was beautiful, and I sold out in about 4 hours. Got invited to do 5 other events, and had my pulled pork and brisket both declared to be the "best ever" by multiple people. And I put about $700 in my pocket.
Today I feel like I was hit by a truck then trapped in a forest fire. I have to figure out how to seal up around the doors of my smoker, too much smoke gets out under the awning. I tried some stuff for wood stoves, but it seems my gaps are uneven, or something, and there is a large spot where the gap is a good inch or so between the door frames. Any suggestions from you mechanical welder types out there?
Pat
1. I would not have my granddaughter/grandson be in the draw position and be carrying a box of shells.
2. You are NOT firing no shoulder fired missile with that slouch back and no eye pro on. Ya gotta lean into it.
rjdj Congrats on the 1st ever event "for the most part" going smoothly. As far as sealing gaps, yes wood stove sealant/gasket material can work for small issues. Even some stove putty that is a formable past that dries and hardens might help on an area that you can not get to seal that is wonky. But with a 1" gap.... it is steel welding time. Like weld 3/16" bar stock, flat stock strips that overlap when you close the doors. Gotta get them doors sealed, taste/flavor and heat control are literally "going up in smoke". And I am sure that reeks havoc on keeping a good regulated temp.
Thanks Rich. The cook went well in spite of the smoke going up in smoke. But then, I have a fireplace sized fire going in the firebox, so the minimal heat loss is negligible, but the constant eye burning smoke haze in my work area is an issue. Later I'll post some detail pics and you guys can throw me some ideas.
