good morning missouri... and rich wherever you are..
it is good to drive a ford down the road AGAIN.........
drove the red f250 to town and back ... the change from 3:50 to 4:11 gears was not as noticeable as i thought it would be.. kicking in the secondaries did set me back a little harder i think...... but i have not drove the truck in over a year, so i may of forgot how it was before... i will need to check my speedo using the GPS on my phone, to see how far off it is now.... but it is great to have wheels again......
now i have to decide which project to do next.. poor "ole rip" has been waiting for the past 5+ years .... or should i do the 300 swap into the 'flat bump' or maybe the frame swap on the 1939 to 2001 ranger project... or should i start back on the 2000 ranger 4x4 build.. too many choice's for my feeble little brain.. ha ha ha ha .. the bus would be a better winter project i am thinking...
I vote for ole Rip if you have a power train available. That's a sweet truck.
Camper is home and the floor is solid once more. I need to get the garage put back together so I can get some things back on track but we'll have to see how that goes.
We're back from our display in Illinois. We ate too much. As we pull in to town we see a sign that says, "Barbeque Capitol of Illinois". ....oh really???? Yep, pretty fine Barbeque, that's for sure. That was lunch. Then we set our display up right next to this Italian restaurant and we ate Chicken parm for supper. Man that was good food. We had a lot of positive feedback on the truck and the guys that put the event on where happy, so everything is good. The hauler did awesome. I still have to fine tuning to do on the living quarters, but it sure is nice to be able to take a nap in the A/C before the event kicks off.
Not up to a Roadkill trip? Assuming it has the '54 drive axle under it, I'd check the lube level, slap some new rubber on it, and go for it. What could go wrong?
Sister's ride to an important drs appointment bailed out on her so I'm burning some stashed holiday leave to get her there today.
Dave, I thought I was the only one on here who watched Roadkill. Just remove the hood and lash it to the roof, you're golden, be it the tow or towed vehicle.
Howdy youins, couldn't hide from me too long. Just got to sit down and push buttons on the bleep bloop box. Taking a break soaking up AC before moving the 280ZX to the welder so I can start on the floor pans tomorrow morning. Have a great evening all. I did get a little work done on my british Fords, does that count? One of my buddies has deemed my house the litterbox because of the two big british cats.
Well I got some motorcycle working on time with the grandson and his 50 CC Honda. Took both grandkids and (grandma) to the school playground and the city park playground. Learned what a airsoft BB to the face feels like. OUCH Dang crack shot grandson, NOT following the distance rules put in place to protect the elderly, namely ME. Went and picked up dinner for the gang. Tele working tomorrow, heading home tomorrow afternoon/evening or when ever the step daughter and SIL get back for KU med center. Tues probably another plane ride....this new gig got OLD quick.
Today is "clean the hauler" day. We've only been putting it off all year and while we tidy up and get things in order every trip, we keep saying, "We really need to clean this thing." ...so that's today. I also need to see where the headers are broken on EQ. It sounds like the passenger side, but it's hard to tell. I'm gonna throw a bead of weld on there for the music video shoot tomorrow so it doesn't sound so bad, but then I need to get a new set on here for September.
good morning missouri... and rich where ever you are...
not much done yesterday.. the weather was nice, but warm and the ac felt too good to abandon it for most of the day... but i do have wheels again so if i did have to go somewhere i could....
dave i have a fresh rebuilt 351w that i built for the bronco before it was stolen.. i have been thinking of using it in either 'ole rip' or the 4x4 ranger build.. still have not decided on that yet.. i also have the 302 out of a early 70s low mileage LTD i scrapped out back in the 80's.. thought i may use it since that is what rip came out of the factory with.. then of course i still have a 460 c-6 i have been hanging onto for use in one of the projects.. ...
opps i just remembered that i am thinking of using the rebuilt 351w in the "new to me" 86 f250 sitting out under the shade tree, waiting to be worked on.. that truck will most likely become my new work truck when my nephew johnn is old enough to drive the red f250.. it could use a good engine... i also have enough parts to build another 351w if i want to use it in one of the projects...
so long story short i have no idea what i am DOING... which most of ya'll knew already.. ha ha ha ha ha ha
Rich. I was hired to shoot a music video with Earthquake. It's a country song called "Kickin' up dust (down a country road)". The artist is out of Branson and we're shooting it around the corner from the house. It's quick, easy money. (I hope) No idea if it'll make my youtube channel, but I'm sure I'll get a copy of it somehow.
I got the hauler cleaned out. It occurred to me I never cleaned it out from when I bought the tractor, so there was all kinds of stuff that hit the dumpster from the cab. I DID find my camera and phone charger, so that's good.
Well I hope we get to see it on your U tube channel or CMT or GAC one of these days. I have seen a lot of new up and coming country stars putting their new song video on U tube to just get their name/song out there. Get the singer/bands name and he will have insta supporters from us watching it to see you.
I bet you will be wearing your sunglasses for this one. And have your autograph pen in your race suit pocket. Lol Cool deal and congrats on getting out there in the world.
