good morning all... the only music i need is already in my head...... ha ha ha ha .. i would like to do a modern sound system.. or maybe dig out the old 8 tracks and cassettes
Alan well hang in there, and worse case go to a pawn shop and buy a old school boom box and a truck load of D batteries and get your jam on. RC even I know you have a smartphone and a bluetooth speaker. We jammed to it at the swap meet.
Well today totally sucked. I was out running errands in Lebanon this morning and managed to get clipped by a semi. He was in the left lane at a stop sign and I pulled in to the right. For the life of me, I did not see a right turn signal until he started swinging right and I saw the signal on the back of the truck. As soon as I realized what was happening, I jammed it in reverse and gunned it to give him room. Unfortunately, I wasn't quick enough to get clear of the rear tire on the trailer.
Fortunately, it was a grain truck and didn't have much of anything after the wheel to snag and tear stuff. The car is drivable and doesn't seem to have been knocked out of alignment. I've almost got everything filed with my insurance company so it will be down to just waiting to get the go-ahead to get it fixed.
Well 2 weeks off flew by. Back to work tonight. For the next 4 nights actually. Seem to have gotten a lot done but theres still more. Textured and painted. Seems to look okay.
Well, I have tunes in the hauler now. I managed to track down the speaker wires where they come in under the dash. Luckily, the wires out to the speakers were still good. I had to replace the front speakers and one of the rear speakers. The "new" Pioneer head unit sounds great. It'll be nice to listen to music without the crackling and popping. I have an antenna booster too, so I can be a LOT farther out and still get a radio station.
good morning missouri.. rich i did have several of those 'bluetooth' speakers and a subscription for pandora.. those speakers did not last for crap and i no longer spend 10.00 a month for that... when driving the van it has a great 10 speaker sound system with a cassette and cd player, even has a tv in it ha ha ha .. but... in my raggedy ole f250 (my daily driver) their is a stock radio and dry rotted dash speaker that only plays static .. ha ha ha ..
hang in there dave.. into every life a little rain must fall.. around me it is monsoon season most of the time.....
alan glad ya got some jams going in the hauler.. my bus with the supercharged diesel engine was always so loud, i couldnt even hear the radio when volume was all the way up....
Might be getting some New Orleans guests if IDA (hurricane) gets any closer to them. Happened during Katrina, so I was told, I was on my first deployment. 16 years ago tomorrow! Time sure flies.
Guess I'll head over to the bodyshop and check on the progress. Then you'll find me mowing. I can't get the mowing time under 3 hours. That chops a big chunk of the day.
luv that picture Pat

good morning missouri... a cool morning out there .... i should go back out and get some work done before the oven gets turned on.... or maybe not.. ha ha ha ha ha
Tiff's step father broke his hip about 3 weeks ago. He got pneumonia in the hospital and seemed to be doing better. He came home but started to get worse. He was admitted back to the hospital and his condition started to go downhill from there. He was placed on comfort care at the beginning of the week and at 1:00 am this morning, he passed. We were fortunate enough to have one last visit with him yesterday afternoon.
I'm gonna miss that old man. He never missed a chance to give me crap, but he always made me smile. Good bye, Charlie.
Alan sorry to hear about your family loss, prayers to you all.
Well after 3 plane rides (in a row) and a 1.5 rental car drive I am back across the big pond and in Plovdiv Bulgaria for work. Having to work sux, having to travel to a foreign country for work sux even worse. At least my traveling back to work in Afghanistan came to a halt before the SHTF.
And for the record Bulgarians do NOT speak Russian. I spoke a little paruskie to one and was promptly told to stick to speaking english. Lol
Rich,
I worked with the Bulgarian's when I was in Iraq with the Multi National Division. Great folks. Funny thing most of them learned English by watching movies.
Most of the countries around the ole USSR really have a strong distaste for Russia and the Russian language. Pretty much all of the ole Warsaw Pact countries Senior Officers were forced not only to learn Russian but to speak it at most meetings. I particularly realized their distaste for Russian when I attended Peace Shield in the Ukraine. It was a battle to keep all the countries speaking a common language (English ). Of course the Russian representatives there really thought it would be simpler to use Russian as the common language.
