Most of the countries around the ole USSR really have a strong distaste for Russia and the Russian language.
Yes I had a moment of forgetfulness and just blurted out a Russian phrase. At least it was on the local populus and not the folks I am working with. Crisis avoided.
10:30 (22:30) and night here and jet lag is hammering on me. I'm out and going to work on resetting my body clock.
Condolences to you and Tiff's family Alan. Let us know if you need anything.
I'm sitting here waiting for this rain to pass so I can go move a couch for my son. With all the events on Friday, I plum forgot about the couch until this morning. As for the car, I'm waiting for the insurance folks to decide that my estimate is too high and start badgering the body shop about the price. I'm hopeful I will know something certain by the end of the week.
My oldest daughter bounced her new car off of another car. ....again. I was able to wet sand and buff the scratches out again, but I told her to stop doing this. It's REALLY hard on paint. Now on Tuesday the guy she hit is going to stop by so I can hopefully do the same to his car. I hope I can fix his car so the insurance company doesn't have to get involved.
I also got the rugs mostly cleaned up in the hauler so the inside of the cab is lookin' pretty snazzy. I have to get busy building the last three bumpers tomorrow. With everything that's been going on, I haven't had the motivation to really cut, grind and weld much, lately.
Alan is a super modicator/fabricator and can make a saddle fit on a pigs back. I am sure he can make you one. That design is primarily for a 73-79 Ford.
Yes, the bumpers I have the jig for will fit a '73-'79 Ford or a '73-'87 Chevy. I can make one to fit a different truck, but it will have to be prototyped to the truck and right now, steel is so ridiculously high, I'm not building any more bumpers until the cost of steel comes down. I can't justify charging $1200 for a bumper when I used to charge $450 before steel shot through the roof. As soon as my coffee is done, I'll get back cutting grinding and welding. I have to pick up another 460 and C6 this evening as a spare, and another guy is dropping off a cab and front clip for me later this week. I'll have some nice body panels for my new daily if I ever get to build it.

Alan, what happened to "No more bumpers until steel gets cheaper"? I guess a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
Watched IDA on TV and stayed in touch with Family in the New Orleans (NoLa) area yesterday. Everyone is relatively OK so far. All have no power so they're making do in the Hot & Humid NoLa summer. Haven't got updated this morning but there were talks last night about sewer and water being effected as well. This is just one more thing NoLa doesn't need.
Gonna get out and mow before it starts raining this afternoon. That'll be 3 hours of fun in the sun. At least we're not suppose to get into the 90s for a change.
Good morning there, it is 4:30 PM here. I spent the day getting shown around the old Soviet cold war era aircraft hangers. While doing a meet and greet with all the Bulgarian helo team workers. Also got a little time on top of one of them doing some main rotor head reassembly inspections. I ate lunch in a "village" called Trud (Труд) at a restaurant called Diane.

I had plate steel here and precut for 6 more bumpers. I'm building the last three of the 6 six I already had the steel for. I've just had other things come up and I couldn't build them all at once. These three are already sold, I just have to build them and ship them. Once they're gone, I'm done with bumpers until the cost comes down.
Bruce (and everyone else) I'll pass along the well wishes. Thank you everyone. He was just my father in law, but I liked him and I'm gonna miss him giving me crap all the time. Tiff was closer to her step father than her real father, so this hit her pretty hard. The girls are just beside themselves because this is the first time they lost someone close to them.
We're back from Lebanon. I have a 1972 385 series and a C6 in the bed of my truck. The guy couldn't tell me WHAT 385 series it is, so I'm going to hope it's a 429, but with my luck, it'll just be a 460, which is fine, too.
