lowering blocks seems like a cheap skate way of doing it. why not use a air bag system that raises and lowers like ram ?
Air bags may be able to lower by deflating, but their ride height is fixed because they have to maintain ride pressure.
Air ride sounds cushy and friendly, but it really isn’t anything more than a spring that must carry weight. More weight carrying ability means more air pressure which means a harder ride.
Kenworth truck introduced an all air ride system back in the 80’s. 8 bags. It was the worst riding suspension ever...

ive never had airbags so i cant speak on personal experience but ive seen a few videos about ram and there was nothing said about harsh or stiff ride that i recall. how bad could the ride be if they didnt bother to mention it ?

You may be confusing a factory-engineered air bag rear suspension with adding bags for tuning a leaf spring truck. My 04 has rear bags that I use to set the height where I want it based on load etc.
1/2 ton Dodges have an air bag rear suspension from the factory, like Range Rovers did. Didn't hold up too well on Range Rovers, but Dodge has superior engineering, right? Right?

im not confusing anything. sounds like ford will give you a set of $40 smaller blocks. ram gives you factory airbag system that lowers

Just to clarify: Ram 1500s have 4-corner air suspension, not rear-only. It's a modified version of the 4-corner system developed for the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Ram 2500s have optional rear air springs that replace the rear coils. Ram 3500s have optional rear air springs that supplement the regular leaf pack.
i agree with the other guy. if you look at the truck as a whole , honestly i think ford is now trying to play catch up in every area.
Been a long time Ford man with millions of miles in Fords to back it up. This reminds me of the turtle and the hare. We’ve seen it with Dodge and GM forever. Come to the table with a “great” response to Ford’s engineering, and an a few years, the idea is nothing but that... an idea. And Ford keeps moving along slow and steady.
Air ride “ride quality” is a little overblown. You still need pressure and an air bag must not only hold enough pressure to fully suspend, but hold enough to not let the truck bottom out on stiff jolts. That being said, punch on a semi tire with 120 lbs of air inflation pressure and see how soft and supple it is.. trust me, it isn’t...

Im not a Loyal ford guy. I have a 19 f350. 18-f-250 18-ram 3500. 2- ram 4500- duramax 2500. I have all big 3 and varying options.
Dont see ford lagging behind. They are basically now tied with ram and Chevy. Basically it took Chevy and ram to release a new updated truck just to be on the same playing field as ford
for first to offer LED in a Truck. New generation ram and Chevy just got it
ford first to have tailgate assist. Chevy and ram just got theirs
Ford first to use aluminum in beds. Chevy now optioning carbon fiber ect.
Ford first to have 8” navigation screen and panoroof. Ram just now has ford beat with its 12” and who knows what the heck GM is trying to do.
Cummins and duramax in new platform is just barely ahead of fords current platform in torque and power.
Ford first to offer push start - auto high beams / auto windshield washers ect.
It seems like ford is “falling behind” but in all honestly, it was just that Ford was so far ahead now that the other 2 are catching up it seems they are falling behind. Rest assured after seeing the new GMs interior/exterior and Rams exterior , they don’t have to worry for another year or two before they have to come out with anything new
