THIS IS NOT A DRILL.Tuesday, April 2 at 8:00 AM at the State Capitol we need you to make your voice heard. In Hearing Room 50, lawmakers will be holding a hearing on Senate Bill 978. The bill has been turned into an OMNIBUS FIREARMS bill.
The -1 amendment will be under consideration. It includes regulations around storage of firearms, raising the minimum age to purchase a firearm, and also a backdoor concealed carry ban in certain public buildings. * Click here to read the -1 amendment *
There will likely be a line forming before 7:30 AM for people to sign up to testify. Testimony will be limited to no more than two minutes per person, so please plan accordingly. It is advisable for people who plan to testify to arrive at the capitol AT LEAST an hour early.
If you are unable to come down and visit in person, you can always email your testimony to sjud.exhibits@oregonlegislature.gov.
